Heck, even a bomber can have a hard time taking on a turret boat solo.
As for a fighter, I used to solo boats (p/r ones tho, I'm, not that skilled myself:D) in an eagle with 4 debs, 2 heimdalls, mr and nukes. Worked pretty well for me.
