Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - Jinx - 03-28-2008 well, its not like there is a short supply on zoners:laugh:- and yes, events should be zoners alone - unless harvesters suddenly explode to like 10:1 in numbers against zoners - but by that time, they d prolly inhabit all sirius core. after the last battle in 49, its quite clear that zoners are rather too numerous than a rare oddity. - considering we had to queue up to engage; it does not really reflect how zoners should be. - with what we had there ( and it was only a fraction of the zoners on the server ) we could have easily taken a house system and even fight most house factions defense fleet. but fun anyway - when its about attacks on zoners with people around that rely heavily on zoners supplies, - i d say - its OK to assist, if the zoners in question send out a distress. - ( thats up to the balance of the engagement - but mostly, zoner transports will simply retreat - and retreating can be done alone ) - in the end its up to the factions that may or may not assist. - it is one thing to assist against the keepers - another thing to assist vs. an "inner zoner problem" Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - wrathkin - 03-28-2008 Heh, if I get stalked when flying "Tradin'Seb", I'll complain to the local authorities, be they police, military or pirates. They never seem to get there in time. One might suspect they are not trying. (it would be nice to see more harvesters around the Freeports - I seem to only ever see them on the NT-NB route, and since I no longer trade there...) Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - ScornStar - 03-28-2008 All comment are being taken into consideration. We ahve now started a raid route of the freeports, still formalizeing and working our reps toward Junker Guard, and trying to trade which has become "complicated" and I got nosey with the Outcast today just to see how fast they could muster. Pretty fast they got us. Now I have to send more ships to get those blasted test results. BTW if you are Outcast, or Lane Hacker or have interest in being our enemies you may post here but state which faction you speak for at least in opinion if not command. I also have not seen any JG where are they? Did they dry up? Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - mwerte - 03-29-2008 RoS never looks strong but BOY can we muster a force when needed. 4 of us hit Gamma the other day and about 10 Corsairs started chasing us home (after we killed at least 4 GBs a cruiser and a Zoner destroyer) so I rallied the forces, by the time we got to Eta there were almost 15 more RoS waiting to give the Corsairs a shove. hehe. And I'm going to have RoS command put Harvester on KoS, after all, you are trying to wipe us out. Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - ScornStar - 03-29-2008 Sounds fair we harvested a Kusari destroyer from the 66th in Omega 15 today I forgot the name but it prompted our probeing, let the war begin it should be fun. The Outcast are great enemies to have they are every where you can always fight them. Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - Joggin - 03-30-2008 Yep, Del and Jinx's comments are spot on. Jinx's point about local assistance is well made... of course, the trouble is, that whilst main players.. Harvey's and Zoners may understand the context, local folks who don't know the story may not...so we could get into a tangle with any impromptu action. At the moment it seems to me that we will have to limit this to faction v faction(s) plus timed events. I'd like to see it extended it further, to make the RP more natural..... A Syrius epidemic say... but not sure how we could do it. Shout up yer ideas folks! This is not very helpful....but want you all to know I'm interested in the discussion and will contribute where I can. Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - ScornStar - 03-30-2008 I think the impromptu is just right and if the locals get involved we have to adapt natraully. Shane got in trouble once for blasting a HArvey right in front of a Liberty cop once but If we do the same in Rhineland to a Zoner well..........it could go the other way. I see the uninformed masses as terrain to use or aviod. My two cents anyone else have a view. Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - ScornStar - 03-31-2008 Well April 1 is coming folk and the agreement go into effect and the gloves come off. Hope you have fun and adrineline rush I will. Also I'm starting a new thread called Harvester feedback for, opinions, gripes, suggestions, ideas, comments whatever so I can have a pulse on their effect and adjust based of that feedback as well as other sources. Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - ScornStar - 04-01-2008 Ok if your registered Zoner watch your aft its harvest time. This thread may continue if new thought for our engagement rules come to light. Rules of engagement for Harvester/Zoner encounters - Kuraine - 04-01-2008 Quote:My reasoning is ZOner are non participates in most others battles, I would think most other would be non participate in theirs. Plus I'm not aware of a player GMG faction but the Harvesters are trying to get on good terms with them. I should think that if any Order or GMG combat vessels were to come across a Zoner being attacked, they would definitely render assistance. What's the point of their mutual alliances if neither side bother to help the other when in need? Of course, if the harvester is the one being ganged up on by a bunch of Zoners, the GMG should stay out of it. The Order should also probably be made targets for the Harvesters also (considering both they and the Zoners are interested in non-human lifeforms for study etc). Btw, Billy_Banks and Kuraine are my two zoners and you may consider them both legitimate targets for the Harvesters. |
