JUNKER CONGRESS - Xoria - 03-27-2008 ' Wrote:As to aggression, here's what I meant:I have no clue what this is about. Please send me a PM with all relevant details. Just what sort of "RP agreement to allow free passage and trade for one another" are you talking about? I don't recall negotiating with any Junkers about anything. By the way, I fully support a Junker faction. JUNKER CONGRESS - worldstrider - 03-27-2008 ' Wrote:Thank you Tinkerbell, shows serious commitment and intention. Lol--embarrassingly--I'll admit I am forty-seven and have been a science fiction reader since I was seven years old. I read eight novels a week from that age until the internet came long and distracted me ; ) I was in California when the D&D movement began along with the Society for Creative Anachronism (they were really weird guys) . I had a general disdain for rp games and my response to people who asked me to play them was, "So we all sit around and pretend like we are doing stuff?" In a bathroom stall one day I heard two guys talking about D&D and though they were discussing "Zork" which was one of the first comp games made. Mainframe programmers passed it along to customers--it was a text based adventure ("you are likely to be eaten by a grue"). Anyway, they explained it was D&D and I gave it a try. I was an old board strategy gamer at that time and liked the combat part but thought the RP was goofy. Eventually someone asked me to help them set up realistic miniature combat and I ended up DMing. People kept showing up at my apartment asking me to do it. Who knew? "Traveller" was the first detailed rpg to come out with a scifi theme and I loved it--also played the old PBM games where you build a space empire and design your own species/purpose. I had a friend who knew Gary Gygax (D&D) and another who worked for GDW (Traveller)--which I contributed some material for one of their own adventure mods too. When I saw RP server, I thought it meant "not a pvp whore" (I hate that phrase fyi) server. I hate the "circle fights" servers where people just fly around, "I'm bored?" Wanna pvp?" so I picked Discovery. It was then I realized, "Oh--ROLE_PLAY." Hehe--I'm a bit slow ; ) So I thought I would give it a go. Junkers were not real visible when I came on and I liked the no-limits behind the scenes action as a trader. I started thinking about my own group when people started telling me "What I couldn't do with a Junker"--basically, you are allowed to gather scrap in a CSV and never fight. Kinda irked me--especially since it was always expressed with rancor and publicly. It wasn't until Oniros and I talked and shared some ideas that I saw how many people want to tell you "what you can't do with a Junker". HaHa--what real Junker would put up with that? So we are here simply to help people do what they want to do with their Junker--while hopefully being able to POSITIVELY steer their actions towards reasonable balance. My point in sharing my life history is this is my "one" hobby". I sacrifice sleep to play cause I have to work. I don't play multiple servers or server hop--I'm planted here. I'm gonna work at it cause I like it. So I'm not here to reinvent Freelancer and tell everyone what to do. Just to have fun and do something creative. Word of advice, negative comments preceded by the phrase, "I don't think..." really are usually a waste of time. JUNKER CONGRESS - worldstrider - 03-27-2008 ' Wrote:I have no clue what this is about. Please send me a PM with all relevant details. LH refrigerator made a deal for us to buy and resell looted cargo that got better prices at places they couldn't dock. In return we and they were free to use each other's bases to conduct business. It's no big deal--was just an opportune example. Don't sweat it--I outfoxed, outran and got away from your mate--Hehe, in my advanced train through Mactan's rocks. He ought a be ashamed ; ) And we fully support the Lane Hackers! JUNKER CONGRESS - Xoria - 03-27-2008 Please spread the word around your Junker friends that Junkers are at Friendly status with The Lane Hackers and should not be pirated if they have both the Junker Tag and ID. A friendly bribe to support our cause is always appreciated, of course. And if you're hauling cardamine, expect to hand some over to support our voracious habit. The big exception is that we do not tolerate players who try to hide their battleship acquisition behind a Junker moniker that they do not roleplay. The same goes for faux Zoners. The Diplomatic Channel linked from Moriarty's signature is available for any problems in the future. Done and doner. I wish I had a battleship :yahoo: Do Zoners actually DO anything? :nono: JUNKER CONGRESS - worldstrider - 03-28-2008 Who and where do I pay the 500 million to? The fee implementation unfortunately came about just before I posted the faction request. I may need a little time to collect it all as no advance warning was avaialble to me on this. I have close to 200 million on hand now. I also am updating the faction description in the interim in response to comments and questions from others. I have a real life too so I may miss a post buried in the forum regarding something I need to do. Not intentional, correct me if I err. Thanks JUNKER CONGRESS - worldstrider - 03-30-2008 Faction info updated, submission fee is available for admins on request. Players please comment on any errors or issues I may have missed if you would--thanks! JUNKER CONGRESS - sn!p3r - 03-30-2008 This sounds quite interesting, sign me up if this gets approval JUNKER CONGRESS - Souseiseki - 03-30-2008 I'm down for joining, I met someone involved on my junker (gastas) I don't remember who it was but this all sounds nice and dandy, I'm in if you want me. JUNKER CONGRESS - worldstrider - 03-30-2008 Great and thanks for the interest. As soon as I hear the word from on high, I'll let you know the verdict. Lol---we already have several "secret" supporters as well as several who want to jump in openly. on top of that, I've already been approached about three alliances with non-Junkers. Go figure. If it's not Junker, its SCRAP! :yahoo: |
