I used to play it quite often online.
But I got tired of that pixel graphics after a while.
Might get addictive again if I'd touch it now, but meh not in the mood right now.

Some of us still play it quite a bit. Dusty and some others have been playing a lot on a faction based survival/pvp server, and we've also been working on making some Zelda style dungeons on a private server. You have my skype if you're interested.

I'll play when I get home. I have a private server that I play on at times. Currently I am building a railroad from one village to another. Through mountains and caves. Completely forged from resources near by. :> I also like having season mods and other realistic settings! I like an ever changing environment!
Such as "All will Fall" mod and an decay mod. Where blocks of certain types will fall. This means that the landscapes will change and decay over time. So it's good to try to build on land that doesn't have pockets of caves under it. Though finding such places will be near impossible without digging to the bedrock. So what I like to do is run the game a week or so nonstop. Build a small house and small farm.
I had played with with villages and abandon mines automatically added and it caused some issues. Some villages were falling part rapidly and just made for an ugly event. I would suggest having MineColony with it so that you can place villages in areas not effected by it.
Now all this talk makes me wanna play!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I cannot right now:(
