Thrusting away clarification - Muleo - 04-20-2008 A corsair bomber pilot defending Crete on his own, would NEVER give up. No matter what the odds. You have to understand, in a fight somewhere else, I would have retreated, but I can't let a Bounty Hunter battleship just sit outside Crete now can I? Like I said, reinforcements were on the way. And I was keeping him busy. ' Wrote:i have to agree with marauder there - with the last point. - there is an attitude even among serious RPers that can only be described as a competitive attitude, but not a roleplaying one. Thrusting away clarification - Jinx - 04-20-2008 well.... i think i d have to smirk when a BHG in a puny battleship was sticking in some planets orbit and said "commencing bombardement". - i know the scale of everything is messed up .... but for real. how long does he want to bombard the place? - 1 year? 100 years? - a single battleship won t cause much damage, i think - and its not like crete isn t used to "stuff falling out of the sky" - when i land on crete, it seems that its "raining asteroids" like all the time anyway. i think - dropping bombs / destroying stations / blockading commodities can only really happen in an event based and discussed by all the people involved. of course, i do understand your reasons for engaging alone. - but the alternative could have been to taunt this little ship and tell him that : a) he is not a local and hardly knows where to drom his bombs b) tell him that, - even if he knew where to drom the bombs, crete is sheltered due to the permanent asteroid rains - and that it will take weeks, if not longe to cause any noticable damage from an orbital bombardement ( so let him roleplay bringing a transport with military vehicles.... so its not just some poor excuse, but actually real RP [ harvesters did that when they wanted to take gran canaria] ) c ) tell him that reinforcements are on their way and will probably arrive soon, and you d be off to join them and be back in 4 hours ( cause whats 4 hours. a battleships cannot start dropping bombs on a planet from one second to another ) many ways to steer around making a suicide run .... which... of course, requires a "partner" on the other side that takes the RP thread and plays WITH you. - pointless if the battleship captain only wants to pvp of course. No man, i wasn't refering to you as "you", but to Corsair bombers i fought, most of them were OPG. ' Wrote:PS- Do you mind not attacking Gamma with your stupid battleship whenever you're online? It's getting old.. Tell me what to attack it in then, and i never attack Gamma, i only hunt bounties, since there is a 5mil bounty on all OPG, and sometimes i get attacked while passing from O-41 to Kappa. And there is always 1 or 2 BBs in Gamma + 3 or 4 GBs, and since most of OPG iv seen fly GB, i cant come in anything smaller then BB when i am alone, since its armor alows me to stay alive long enough to get bounty kill, sometimes... Back to subject: If you really want to dodge BBs fire, do it within 3-3.5k radius. I mean, on 2.5k there is like 1% chance of actually getting hit. You dont have to go to 6-7k. Thrusting away clarification - Muleo - 04-20-2008 Ever thought the reason we get the gunboats and cruisers out is because you're here in a battleship? As for the distance, the furthest I was out was 6k, I usually stayed in more or less weapons range, popping in and out to drop SN BTW aren't you contradicting yourself here?
