I have been playing for 3 years.
I met a Phantom once in my early days and did not even realize what it was (the player seemed surprised that I was not in terror). That was my one and only encounter.

Consequently, I would say: Few players in here even remember what they were. They are far far in the past.

As we already have too many factions, I agree there is no need to have any more at all.

Seeing any "very limited member" and "exclusive group" and "overpowered tech" ideas don't make me happy. We all know what happens in these concepts of elitism combined with power.

Met them only a couple of times when I was fresh around here.

The first time - I had no idea who they are, so except the normal cautious attitude for anything red on my scanners I didn't do much. That is before I've died of course.

Second time I've met them was on my LPI (oh the funny days) and they chased me all the way from California to Manhattan qq.


Anyway, I don't believe Phooms have a place around here anymore, nor that their creators want them around here.
I do believe however that their assets could be reused for other purposes, because it seems quite a pity to just have them lying around in the files without much of a purpose.

Respecting what was done in the spirit of what it was done still has not been infringed upon. everyone is freakin over reacting.

Over. Reacting. It will take one patch to wipe id cards and rewrite material for the assets formerly known as phantom. Tommarrow they could be called the hello kitty island adventure company. or the sex robot cult college of pizza cheffery and everyone worried about some past legacy coming back from the dead can sleep tight.

Give me the Phantoms faction, I'll turn it into a pony faction and have a special reservation next to the glue factory.

I would laugh if I saw the phooms renamed to one of those. That said though the second would be fun to rp out.

Not a big fan of their revival but I'd like to point out something that seems to be a concern repeated by Sindroms. If your creative work gets accepted and actually added to the in-game mod then yes it's now belonging to Disco. If your creative work is only on the forums and never got further then either it was unsubmitted to the devs or rejected by the devs. Don't submit your creativity to others if you don't want it to be theirs from then on. Although in the end I'm surprised the Phooms materials haven't been deleted, nothing against Kane or Virus but it's just from a different time when the server and it's rules were different beasts all together.
