The thought of launching fighters from my Carrier NPC or PC makes me go tingly all over. As long as there is a limit as to how many NPC ships you can launch.
I hope this is considered for future versions at least.

Yea, like i mentioned before, even being able to launch just one wing of fighters (3-4 fighters, most npc's fly in groups of 3) would work great. I dont think balance would be much of an issue either, as there are only 4 carrier-class ships in the game (Zoner, IMG, Order, and Liberty), and not many players are flying them.

I think that this would be a splendid thing, which would make for much better immersion and make carriers actual.. carriers.
Plus as Tenacity says, it's not like launching 4 high level fighters would create that much lag.. it's not like everyone and their mother are flying a Carrier. They're very costly you know.
So yeah. Launching NPC wings, yes!

Is it possible? I love freelancer so much, its engine is so flexible. This has been brought up many times before, and various devs said it would not happen for one reason or another...But I do love the idea of carriers being actual carriers instead of a cruiser with 18 guns lol

Actually, it should not be for carrier alone, battleships need to be included since they are vanillas carriers.
In any case, I would actually like to see this for all ship classes that are in a faction, not just the caps.

Ill vote ALL battleships, as the person above me did.
After all, some of those battleships are far bigger than carriers... and you can dock on most of them.

I like that idea but only make it that you can only dock it. What if just make large PvP fights where would be 1 battleship, few carriers etc...
