The player I killed was named Frugo.the.frog, and I only killed him once - screenshot below:

Prior to that, I had been assisting someone with a transfer - a level 5 in a starflier who frugo.the.frog killed. Frugo also killed two other level 4-6 players in starfliers immediately afterwards, screenshots here:

Now granted I probably shouldnt have killed him, as it is a violation of the server rules - but it was done within RP context (claimed the guy was going psycho, while the LSF players sat around and did nothing as he wreaked havoc on other new players above manhattan):

I also dont tolerate anyone killing anyone else while they're attempting to do a transfer, and especially when it's been announced in systems chat - the guy was doing this to be a jerk and griefer, nothing more.
EDIT:

And even afterwards, he's still doing it, attacking players he shouldnt be - and then rule lawyering about how "you cant attack me! it's breaking the rules!" while doing so:

Sad part about this is... you really cant sanction a starflea with any effect.

I say let him have his dumb ass rampage. What can a star flea do? Except annoy people. as long as he's not tractoring the credit cards (why in gods name would someone use them) used in the transfer you should still be about to find a reasonably secluded place to finish the transfer.

did you not see what i said later on in the thread?

I was helping someone transfer a mini razor, MkVIII armor upgrade, several weapons, and a few million credits from an unarmed patriot to a new character in a starflier.

If this noob would have destroyed that person in either ship, he'd have lost millions of credits worth of equipment, all because some guy wanted to be a griefer.

Even a starflea can cause harm.

Just a thought, but language like that might possibly get you another sanction....

But what do I know....

I would've just bumped him. And said it was a mistake...

' Wrote:well the guy could have at least warned frugo in system chat that he was breaking the law and could be arrested for assault and murder... but he just sat there griping at me for shooting at the guy so I could get him out of the way and complete the transfers.

That was actually him showing you some respect. In addition, I had already told Frugo he was violating the underlevel killing rule. I then explained that nobody is allowed to engage an underlevel player even if they are themselves underlevel. This was right after he killed the RM and right before he blew up his second underlevel player. I did not quote the entire rule about underlevels being engageble if they possess a faction ID that permits another with RP reason to attack to attack. But I quoted enough that he should have stopped and asked a question or 2. But he didnt and continuted to kill a 3rd underlevel player. At that point I left and wrote up a sanction report.

From experience we know oorpers, idiots, and pvp whores just do not listen. Particularly when they are so blatantly misbehaving. In addition, when we do think there is some hope we pm them and do not use system com. To me at least the best thing to do is give a little bit of constructive advice in system com (which I did) very briefly explain the rule they are violating (which I did). If they stop good. If they dont send a pm real quick (which I did). If that doesnt work I leave and write a sanction report and try my best when I get back into the game to ignore the player. (which I did)

The last thing we need is EVERYONE in NY jumping in on system com about the rules, sanctions, cheating, I'm bigger than you are, try that on me and I'll pawnzors you. It just turns into a giant flame and troll fest like the forums.

The fact that the Liberty player addressed you on system com show's he felt you could handle it and may even have the potential to rp the situation and not just complain and go ooc like most people do. And if i recall the event, which I was witness to as I was there undercover, you did rp. You responded well. At least for the short time I was there before leaving to post the sanction report.

' Wrote:explanation is simple, I had a reason for doing what I did, and quite a few players around at the time agreed with it. Still, I get sanctioned just the same, and lose my credits for trying to save someone else from losing theirs.

Zero tolerance is not a good way of running things.
EDIT:

And seeing your edit, perhaps I should thank you. Still, I ended up having to delete another of my characters just to get enough money to start building money again after this, and it pisses me off.
EDIT2:

Still, I think the situation didnt warrant a sanction towards me. The no underlevel killing rule is there to stop high level players from griefing noobs, and that did not occur here. The guy deserved it, as he had already smoked three other players and went on to kill several more.

Actually you had no reason other than you were pissed off. Killing him accomplished absolutely nothing. He undocked from manhattan a couple seconds later and started his pvp spree again.

Zero tolerance works here.

I for one am sorry you lost so many credits. I would have been happy to plain old give you some.

Deserved what? Being killed? How is that in any way a punishment for someone who doesn't care about the rules? Like you said he just went right on back to killing folks.

The RM guy should not have been transfering those items into a starflea.

Thats like letting some lev 5 player in a starflea, who you do not know, help you with a 100mil transfer.

Just plain silly.

In my defense... - Horon - 07-02-2008

If someone is pissing you off and following you all over the place, go to a guard system. Chances are, you will last a LOT longer than him, especially if he is in a starflea.
