i'm pro invincible bases if it leads to development of player-driven dynamic economy:

all bases require Basic Alloy (what ever the new one is called, this is just an example).

Base 1 offers list price
Base 2 ofers list price + 10% as they are slightly further away.

traders would then fill the bases themselves. it would be great if we could set missions on planet erie for the new players to take - fly to the new london system and deliver the cargo to king's cross. (or on junker bases, fly to X system and deliver to the rogue id'd PoB)

I could fancy a lighter SRP in case of bases, like 100 mills only, and maybe easing it a bit more with other stuff, idk really, but if roleplay stays mandatory, I could accept more this new "roleplay for attacking is mandatory" rule... You know, when it becomes fair...

Coin # your remark about POB economy is very good stuff , actually i posted sowhere about plug in to have vieq on POB bases buy/sell/price/amount list in real time, what exists for NPC Bases. That tool would greatly improve POB RP capabilities.

NPC objects and in some meaning whole universe is just a lore , predeterminated status quo, in some metaobservation lifeless and meaningless, and everything what players make are actually real values. Such relation shopul apply as for ship so for POBs.

^^ This! I think a lot of people who don't look at PoB pages don't even realize some of the good prices they can get both buying and selling stuff.

Its hard and tiresome #Highland Laddie to dig all stuff up. I wonder if that plug in is not possible to make some community thread just with those informations. Corsair department of goods declarations was some move in that direction , but it was tied to npc base. If you wanna try to make some Sirius Bussines advertisement chanel and every base get one post to edit and control - just short buy/sell quantity/price list i will join and can contact IMg and Rheinlanders to hook up. No clogging with any text, just plain informations.

For instance

commodity ------------ buy -------- sell------price----quantity ~
Cobalt ore ------------ Yes---------------------6,500---- >20000
Liquid cardamine* ----------------- Yes ------100 ------- 5000

and everyone update it in same time on SMT

Well, I don't necessarily see how creating a NEW forum page that posts prices would be that different than having individual base pages, aside from putting that information all together for convenience.

However, the problem would still remain of how to reach that information to players in-game, particularly the ones who don't much get involved with the forums anyways.

hmm maybe in section for - selling ships - selling equipment to add one more - POB selling commodities , but not to organize in many different threads but one like those other, but and one editing post for every base involved.

ok maybe a stupid question but i have been told that i can cd a pob and traders cant dock until the shield is down or the administrator does something. does that constitute an attack on the base when it is really to ensure the trader doesn't escape, and in that way totally unrelated to the base itself?

Indeed, that tool would greatly improve POB RP capabilities. In terms of php and MyBB, from my experience, I don't think that is necesary to create a separated plugin for that. It is enough to be extended the plugin that already provide infos related to "POB info" but probably, still require more queries and this is in the detriment of server load every time when base status page is viewed.
