Limit Battleships to Official factions and SRPs (for indies). Force Players to do RP around them, both on the forums and ingame. In that case, players that want to fly caps can still have this experience with cruisers, while Battleships will be better RPed, easier controllable and more like they should be: Vessels of battle, that have to be protected and cannot be used in some random patrol missions. Comparing this game to real life scenarios is abstract and shows that you have taken the "game" way too seriously and are clutching at proverbial straws to apply science to sci-fi because "reasons". With the amount of these discussions and polls, if the debating players actually put this much effort into being in the actual game, you wouldn't be complaining about being that lone cap in the first place. Crusier fights are boring flying crusiers takes minimal effort unless it's agsinst battleships. Having battleships on raids makes cap fights x9999999999999999 more fun. Crusier duels are a matter of loadout and ship type player skill is totally irrelevant. Funboats are a different story but ppl QQ about them too much. I'm so sorry RP on a RP server requires effort Regardless: If we restrict BSs to Officials only, you start having the issue of Bases being sprung up everywhere and nobody being able to muster up enough forces to remove them. Every base siege I've ever seen above a core1 base has always had a larger number of indies to Official Faction Members. If Official Factions maintain sole control over player-Battleships, then you'd have to basically re-balance the entire POB and PVP balance system around a sudden lack of Heavy Capitals. I'm not 100% against the idea but there are huge balance changes to consider in the hypothetical of such a policy. |
