Have you ever even tried it Andre?Okay, if they had a hold full of credit cards or bounty hunter pilots, then cargo piracy would be worth something. But I don't care who you are, twenty units of anything else is totally worthless. I will also say that being cargo pirated sucks. You lose five thousand units of stuff worth three thousand at their end destination, PLUS you paid a thousand at the source location. Math: 5000x3000 = 15,000,000 + 5000x1000 = 20,000,000 I'd much rather lose 2 million and be able to finish my route rather than lose 20 million whether I say no or yes. ESPECIALLY when they can only carry about twenty units of it anyway. EDIT: To a base that buys it for 250 credits each. Hypothetical Scenario: Pirating for cash is no longer done - Exsiled_one - 09-08-2009 Twenty units DUDE PIRATE HIM WHILE YOU'RE IN A TRANSPORT FFS Hypothetical Scenario: Pirating for cash is no longer done - Fletcher - 09-08-2009 Cargo raiding needs transports, not a fighter or a bomber. They're designed to blow things up, not carry things with a "U-Haul-It" trailer. Transport two: "Or you'll what?" Transport one: "Uhh... shoot at you until you cruise out of range?" Transport two: *cruises away* Transport one: "I miss the old system..." EDIT: alternative scenario: Transport one: "Drop your cargo!" Transport two: "Or you'll what?" Transport one: "Keep you here until my class eight guns drop your shields and destroy you." Transport two: "Yeah, that'll happen. Death: Transport one was killed by a hostile vessel. Hypothetical Scenario: Pirating for cash is no longer done - Elsdragon - 09-08-2009 class 7. Also, hire help? Join like minded people to gang up? Hypothetical Scenario: Pirating for cash is no longer done - DarthCloakedGuy - 09-08-2009 ' Wrote:class 7. Have a Bomber WITH the trasport ot provide assistanceYou know, that's a lot easier said than done when my timezone results in my playing when there are fifty players in all Sirius. This turns piracy from a two-person job into a three-person job, since (in my experience) it takes multiple bombers to take down the average transport (and I say this from both the pirate and transport point of view). Hypothetical Scenario: Pirating for cash is no longer done - Elsdragon - 09-08-2009 Raba Better than a ptrans Hypothetical Scenario: Pirating for cash is no longer done - DarthCloakedGuy - 09-08-2009 And anyways, I would also object to this on the grounds that it is unfair to traders. If a five million tax is too much to pay, how is a 20 million tax any better, since that's essentially with at cargo piracy results in?
