It's only meta gaming when your character acts on knowledge it shouldn't have. Of course since "spy assets" are genre savvy, they can know exactly when to log into their ship based on when the chat window of omniscience shows the target ships as in system.

As a Samura, I face this quite a bit, I find it does not hurt me too much and I can still enjoy the game fine.
I guess the best thing to do would be to secure your forum and only talk in secret if this is such a concern.
Either way I wish you luck, I have enjoyed most of my interactions with the Junker Congress.
There are a few things to iron out, but I am sure you will get there easy enough.

I sometimes wonder if we should execute whoever used the term "metagaming" on the forums first. Yes there are real cases of it around and yes it's a nasty thing, but the majority who uses the term doesn't even seem to know what it is.
Yet once again it's proven that this community concentrates more on gaining a personal advantage by any means necessary than actually playing the game.
