While a little frustrating for someone as - apparently - mentally handicapped as myself, it was overall actually quite enjoyable. Nice narrative and the Shrine made it worth it. Maybe avoid 50K trips above and below the plane with very lethal binary stars in between next time.
As I can't check myself currently, could someone reveal what the additions and blessings entail?

P.S.: Oh, by the way. I think it would be really nice if Researcher ID gave you fixed Neutral IFF. Since these will be mostly quest ships it would be helpful for others to see who they're dealing with. This could reduce negative encounters to a minimum, so as not to create unnecessary difficulties during the quest. Just an idea.
