why not just remove some hard points or give it a real small power plant with a low recharge?

I believe that a change in size of a factor of two is needed, and has been needed. Especially in terms of balancing with the Bretonian side

Because rescalling is the best option. I think 2x should be balanced.

can we even rescale the ship without a major texture re-work to prevent warping and tearing of the ship skin though?

A big mistake I did regarding complaining at the Rheinland Bomber for being so small compared to other bombers was to ignore its moving capabilities and arc-ranges. Now that I personally flown the ship I can agree that it should remain to be a smaller-size bomber, it has its reasons.

I believe this experience of mine can be applied here. I'm quoting Mjolnir here who is a bit more professional on the balancing aspects, having more knowledge regarding statistics and numbers.

You are basically simply looking at the size and screaming it's unbalanced without even looking at the other arguments presented as to why it should remain as it is.

I read the whole thread, and nobody has given a satisfied counter-argument to this:

' Wrote:The Kusari destroyer in current form (very small but with limited arcs) is not halting any "progress" for the rest of the cruisers.

With just one heavy slot that won't fire back (4.86 heavy slot), it can't hurt any ship bigger than a fighter when firing backwards.
At the same time when solaris are used on it, they still are limited with the firing arcs and turning.
The BHG destroyer is about 1.6x bigger in overall size than Kusari destroyer, but the front/rear profile itself is not that much bigger, while as mentioned it has 8 turrets firing backwards.

BHG destroyer with 2 razors and 6 solaris is what limits how good solaris/razors on cruisers can be now [, because it has no obvious disadvantage that a group of ships can use against it.
That said there are other cruisers that have a front profile very close to BHG Dessie and have even bigger powerplant and armor (OC Dessie, Rheinland Cruiser). So the cruiser solaris are basically at the top of what is possible with many current cruisers. Razor is getting some upgrade due to the new slot limitations, but as Kusari dessie was going to have just 1 slot that fires only forward, it's again not the limiting factor.

1. The destroyer is balanced in current form

- Dies to 1 bomber and 1 fighter most of the time.
- Dies to Bretonian Destroyer 1vs1
- Can't hurt a BS alone
- Is impossible to defeat with 1 GB (just like any other cruiser with normal pilot)

2. It doesn't limit guns for any other cruiser (given 4.86 heavy slots)

Various other ships of small profile and good arcs set the limit instead (BHG Dessie, OC Dessie, Rheinland Cruiser)

=> There's no "need" to upscale it.

I haven't voted yet as I want to see what others can reply to this.

But in my opinion voting dosen't mean shi*

Alternative accounts, not everyone participating in the vote, etc. etc. It dosen't mean anything.

2x.That thing evaded my snac too many times.

Kusari Destroyer's fine. It's a little tough to hit, but and 2 snub craft can kill it with time.

To be blatantly honest, I don't really care if it is 2x or 2.5x bigger. Or if it stays the same. The ship is small, but that gives it character... I suppose.

Mjonir's main arguments are that A) it's already been balanced with the other cruisers, and B) there's no guarantee the hitbox will work.

I vote we let Ashes modify the ship's size and test the hitbox/textures in-game.... And if it works. Mjolnir can rebalance it as he has time. If not, it's only Ashes who's lost time. And I don't think she's doing anything else interesting. >.>

For once I agree with Mjolnir.

A sign of the End Times I'm sure.

The Kusari dessie is tiny and turns on a dime. But it's firing arcs, and thus its ability to kite, are limited. And kiting is often a handy advantage to have, especially against bigger caps.

On a somewhat related note, I'm hoping that dessie/battlecruiser hardpoints don't get "adjusted" in such a way that you can only install heavy weps on certain hardpoints. For example a cattlebruiser has 2 BS hardpoints, but you don't have to install BS weaponry on those hardpoints. Cruiser weapons work on those hardpoints as well.

Don't quote me on this, but it would make sense that light weaponry can be mounted on heavy weaponry slots. But not vice versa.

I voted 2x the size increase.

It's far to small.

And I own one.
