So how are those HFs holding up? - kikatsu - 11-19-2013 It has been a bit of time since the mod version changed. I am wondering what people think of the performance of some of the 4 gun HFs, the ones with seperate CD and torpedo/missile mounts like the Hyena, Phantom, the new Outcast HF, and the Gladiator. How are those performing, and what job do you think they are supposed to be doing? RE: So how are those HFs holding up? - Swallow - 11-19-2013 Gladiator with cl9 guns back in .86 was fine, so the things must be the same for those three ships as well. RE: So how are those HFs holding up? - Scumbag - 11-19-2013 You feel the lack of damage and you are dependent on the missiles/torpedo. RE: So how are those HFs holding up? - Ursus - 11-19-2013 HF has always been the pointless class, and they look like they are still there to me. The devs really missed an opportunity to make HFs the expert shooter ship, where you get more agility and energy weapon potential in exchange for less hull and loadout flexibility. Take the missiles and torpedoes off and give them VHF power core, and let them be the advanced ship. RE: So how are those HFs holding up? - Swallow - 11-19-2013 Actually they are quite agile ships. RE: So how are those HFs holding up? - Highland Laddie - 11-19-2013 I've always loved how agile the Chameleon is. The only crappy thing about it in 4.86 was the general weakness of Gaian tech. You could get right behind a heavy bomber and then ... run out of power before doing any real damage. Give them 6 guns with a VHF powercore, take away the other hard-points. Then they can exploit the agility, but will still be fragile enough to be brought down with mines and missiles if they are not flown expertly. RE: So how are those HFs holding up? - Swallow - 11-19-2013 Never had such a problem since I am in general a LF pilot. RE: So how are those HFs holding up? - Kazinsal - 11-19-2013 Four Debs and a missile is death incarnate. RE: So how are those HFs holding up? - Ursus - 11-20-2013 One trick pony that is less effective than a light bomber with 4 EMP and a SNAC? Why cant we have a shooter vehicle? |
