Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - Mímir - 10-02-2014 I am experiencing really odd disconnects, and have been for the past year or so. I connect and everything is fine for about 10 seconds, then I get the red lag indicator and get kicked. This happens almost every time I use Freelancer Account Manager to change accounts, and usually I can get in game after 5-10 disconnects and everything is fine with no lag or disconnects. Could it have to do with the account ID sent to the server? I get kicked like this even if I haven't selected a character but just idle at the "select character" screen, it happens if I stay docked too. Sometimes I restart my PC and my router, and sometimes I can login afterwards - sometimes I can't. Since yesterday I have not been able to log in at all without getting disconnected; no matter how many times I try and no matter what account I switch to. My internet is super slow, but I live close to the server and usually have 0 lag/loss/fluct and about 50 ms ping. I am a network noob, but I did add an exception for the Disco application (didn't mess around with ports manually) in my firewall (Comodo). I use Freelancer.exe to start up the game, and I have the swag pack installed. There are no entries in DSAce when I get disconnected. I have also reinstalled many, many times. Any clues to how I can fix this? At the moment I cannot login or play at all due to this. RE: Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - Wildkins - 10-02-2014 I have times where my ping just explodes to stupid levels, I get really high fluct and loss, and the game is virtually unplayable. Plus there's those nearly once-a-day server crashes when large fights occur. RE: Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - Karst - 10-02-2014 Something's changed in the last week. I used to get ctd's fairly regularly upon logging in, but rarely disconnects. Since sometimes in the last week, I've been having the same issue (though it's generally been taking around 3 tries to get in, not 5-10). I'm not the only one, etiher. RE: Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - Freeport7 - 10-02-2014 I also had and still have this exact same problem since 2 years ago maybe. It would be nice if there could be a solution... mister admins? ![]() RE: Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - Freeport7 - 10-02-2014 I am now having this problem also constantly, i've been trying to log on for an hour now... i log into character, and 10 seconds later i get lagged disconnect. RE: Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - evanz - 10-02-2014 something must be using your internet, is FL the only online game it happens to? RE: Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - Mímir - 10-02-2014 No, BF4 is the same. I'll queue up, finally get on a server, game loads and just when I am about to get in game, it disconnects with an error message. It takes a few attempts before it works as well. I reset my router, and bang FL works again (until I switch account probably). But why? RE: Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - Wildkins - 10-02-2014 Freelancer is the only game that breaks for me. I play virtually any other game with no loss/lag or disconnect. RE: Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - WesternPeregrine - 10-02-2014 Been having the same problem since last week or so. First log in into the game is met with a disconnect after 15 seconds or so, and after reconnecting it goes well. Happens again after I switch an account, or later on when restarting the computer session. RE: Excessive disconnects rendering the game unplayable - farmerman - 10-03-2014 Is it just via disco? When it happens via disco, are you able to successfully ping the server or does it similarly fail? |
