Idea about SNAC/Nova Torpedo - Titan* - 04-10-2016 How about changing Nova torpedo and SNAC to; Nova Torpedo; Unguided Torpedo 1.000M range 250.000 or 300.000 hull damage but 25k Shield damage so people can use incapacitator torpedo more often 200 m/s speed 15k or 20k Hitpoints 15 or 20s reload time increase the energy req so bombers cant fire 2 torps at the same time More mass so they cannot be deflected by BS Flaks 2 or 3 Flak salvo should destroy the Nova Torpedo Bombers will become real dive bomber or torpedo bomber About Snacs; SNACs better than nova torpedo atm because nova torp can't hit a Battleship that have flaks also it cant hit cruiser and gunboat too SNACs should be effective vs Gunboats/Cruisers Nova Torpedo should be effective vs Battleships only Battleships will have more chance against bombers because bombers have to get close to hit with Nova Torpedo, using SNACs to kill a Battleship will take very long time Discuss? You have to choose whether you go close to increase your chance of a hit, or stay away far and likely miss. Bombers are fine, stop trying to fix them and instead focus on buffing battleships. They are still the worst class in the game and die to everything. It's a no way to happen. Will only cause some drama around. The SNAC already barely does damage to anything larger than a gunboat; even with four or more bombers, it takes an immense amount of effort and time to kill anything larger than a cruiser without the usage of Nova torpedoes. Even if you forego your cruise disruptor (as most bombers have to) for a Nova torp, battlecruisers and above are capable of flakking the torpedoes off course - and half the time, a BC can manoeuver out of the way anyway. The idea that bombers are overpowered right now against capital ships is something I simply cannot fathom. The amount of effort, sweat, and tears that goes into deploying a bomber squadron against a sizable capital ship force is far imbalanced against the bombers, particularly when instakill weaponry like razors comes into the equation. Furthermore, a Nova bomber has absolutely no defense against being picked apart by fighters, since without a cruise disruptor there is almost no threat of it deshielding you via a minetrap. tl;dr bombers without a Nova already do next to no damage to capitals, bombers with a Nova are easily killed by having fighter escorts. Capital ships (particularly battleships) are not meant to be deployed without support. They are still the worst class in the game and die to everything. yeah bombers are fine, group of bomber kills group of fighters This thread about Nova Torpedo though, I said "MAYBE lower the snac damage by %50" Nova Torpedo is worthless, does nothing but dies to flaks or deflected by flaks So making them unguided torpedo would be better, Sitting 5k away from a Battleship and firing worthless armies of nova torpedo that dies to flak fire is boring Also it would be better for battleships too if they get close, BS can hit bombers more often RE: Idea about SNAC/Nova Torpedo - Ramke - 04-10-2016 Nerfing the SNAC will ultimately make the bomber class worth less than light fighters without proper alternatives, as the SNAC itself deals 1/3 of a GB's hull as damage if the target is using CAU8. Nova torpedoes are dodged easily and/or flakked even more easily. Do you think 1/6 of hull damage is okay on agile, small and significant dps gunboats? You need two skilled and well-coordinated bomber pilots to even put up a fighting chance against a cruiser or battleship with SNACs, and experienced cap pilots will dodge novas most of the time anyway. Not to mention the fight will take 20-30 minutes against a single player, god forbid someone comes to help during that time. All in all, I think they should change bombers -only if- they have worthwhile alternatives that still give them a fighting chance. Nerfed SNACs will just force them to become snub sniping platforms as they lose their only reliable damage dealer to the point where a light fighter can do better. |
