Heeeeeelp. - Eppy - 03-29-2009 So, I've been trying to figure this out. When I try to burn a disc in iTunes, it says 'Disc Burner or Software Not Found' in its little status box. When I try to add .mp3s to Nero for burning it crashes. Now, there's obviously a disc drive there, and it works for everything else, but I can't burn CDs, which is Not Good. The computer in question is an Alienware M15X, which means it's equipped with a removable Optiarc AD-7590-A that can be popped out of the side and replaced with some other magical device (ATA Grenade launcher, anyone?) Help. This is aggravating D: Heeeeeelp. - hack - 03-29-2009 Having pulled out most of my hair over my Wife's m7700 and m17x, let me ask the first question, does it read disks? Heeeeeelp. - Eppy - 03-29-2009 Yeah, it reads and imports just fine. And your wife bought TWO of those monsters O.O I love mine, but when it craps out it craps out, that's for sure... Heeeeeelp. - kindred - 03-29-2009 ASPI layer, been there. Heeeeeelp. - hack - 03-29-2009 Yea, she had the alienware area 51 M7700, and when she wore that out, went to the M17X. Ok, so it wont burn a cd, what about a dvd? I seem to recall it comes with the software for blueray? Heeeeeelp. - Eppy - 03-29-2009 Nope, the basic model doesn't run Bluray, you had to pay X amount of moniez that I was more concerned with spending on the processor. And the ASPI didn't work, for the record, it would seem by the 'unsupported OS' sign that it doesn't like Vista. And it will physically burn files to a disc; the issue is it won't burn Audio CDs at all. iTunes chokes on it, it outright crashes Nero, and I can't seem to find one with WinAmp (which I dislike anyways). Heeeeeelp. - hack - 03-29-2009 Try burning one with windows media player, see what happens Heeeeeelp. - Eppy - 03-29-2009 Windows media player seems to be burning fine...which is weird...And I hate it... >.> Heeeeeelp. - JakeSG - 03-29-2009 I have found in the past that if iTunes doesn't like something, many other programs designed to do the same function will stop working to be in with the cool kids. Get rid of it and see if it mysteriously starts working >.>" Maybe just coincidences, maybe just Apple trying to keep the money in the family. Again. Heeeeeelp. - Eppy - 03-29-2009 Well, I uninstalled WinAmp and the Nero update I'd put on to try and get them to work, as well as everything I've added in the last 72 hours. No luck. |
