Starflier mk II - Armageddon - 07-22-2009 I have been thinking for the most mass produced ship in sirius to be left to rot at the bottom of the food chain would not make economic sense. As companies would begin to discard them and they would all eventually be left to rot in mothballs or sold for scrap. Now to be honest wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to companies to upgrade the ships they already have available instead of just replacing them. I suggest that a mk II LF which is still relatively slightly weaker than the advanced Hawk be put into operation. This makes sense from an RP perspective because you could see that with companies' losses mounting they would demand for thier starfliers to be upgraded. Specs i was thinking. Armour 2500 Armament 1x Class 8 2x class 7 Additional CM, CD, Mine Cargo 35 Bots/bats 30 However it would retain most of its agility allowing it to still live upto its name. I don't know if this has been discussed already. It just really does seem strange to me why companies would 'chuck out' perfectly spaceworthy ships instead of upgrading. Starflier mk II - Montezuma/Kukulcan - 07-22-2009 Anyone who suggests changing the Starflier in ANY way shal be burnt as a heretic! Starflier mk II - kindred - 07-22-2009 Starfliers are already being upgraded. refurbished and re branded as the Startracker for public sale. On a equal production volume Starfliers and Startrackers are upgraded to Starblazers, a model very close to your proposal. It probably just isn't big enough to support the necessary power supply and other things needed for heavier weaponry and shielding. Also, none of the Star___ ships have disruptors... Starflier mk II - Armageddon - 07-22-2009 I was not suggesting Changing the starflier more making a second model such has done with the patriot ect. Starflier mk II - Armageddon - 07-22-2009 now seriously how is the startracker usable in this age class 4 weapons seriously. The Blazer is not even usable if you want to fly solo. I don't know then maybe an addition to the starline at a even higher power rating. Starflier mk II - Montezuma/Kukulcan - 07-22-2009 The idea is that as they progress in power, they get larger, culminating in the Eagle and Roc, so there is not much need for a flea mk 2. If you are looking for a civillian Mk II LF, i suggest the Griffin. I consider a Starblazer very useful, unless you believe a ship capable of deterring 2 Guardians is useless:) Starflier mk II - Armageddon - 07-22-2009 Okay consider this point moot. But only thing i say now is you know the civillian freighter? Any chance of getting something matching the civvy shipline in as that? |
