I have been thinking for the most mass produced ship in sirius to be left to rot at the bottom of the food chain would not make economic sense. As companies would begin to discard them and they would all eventually be left to rot in mothballs or sold for scrap.
Now to be honest wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to companies to upgrade the ships they already have available instead of just replacing them. I suggest that a mk II LF which is still relatively slightly weaker than the advanced Hawk be put into operation.
This makes sense from an RP perspective because you could see that with companies' losses mounting they would demand for thier starfliers to be upgraded.
Specs i was thinking.
Armour 2500
Armament 1x Class 8 2x class 7
Additional CM, CD, Mine
Cargo 35
Bots/bats 30
However it would retain most of its agility allowing it to still live upto its name. I don't know if this has been discussed already. It just really does seem strange to me why companies would 'chuck out' perfectly spaceworthy ships instead of upgrading.
Starfliers are already being upgraded. refurbished and re branded as the Startracker for public sale.
On a equal production volume Starfliers and Startrackers are upgraded to Starblazers, a model very close to your proposal.

Think of the size of the Starflier. It probably just isn't big enough to support the necessary power supply and other things needed for heavier weaponry and shielding.
Also, none of the Star___ ships have disruptors...
