Ok, for the alst few days, I've noticed something very, very disturbing.
I'm a proud member of the LR (Lapsed Pacifist, if you dont know who). Now, Im normally very tolerant of "lolwuts" or people with little RP, and try to RP around such things. This can normally be done safely, without consequence to anyone. In fact, it can sometimes be very amusing, especially when working with the warped psyche that my character has developed.
Thats fine, jolly all smiles. At worst it ends up with a fighter engaging me (oh well.)
BUT
Every now and then (well, no, alot more than that), someone who maybe overheard an [LN] message or the cries of a trader helplessly caught, comes and tries to fend me off. Do you know his ship? A Cruiser! Yay!
Oh, but what's this? It seems this Navy captain has mounted Liberty AND Rheinland turrets? And Battle Razors? and 4 Zoner flak turrets? Oh, and why does he sound like he has a speech impediment?
WHAT COULD THIS BE?
This, sadly, is a normal lolcap. I swear, they outnumber "good" cap pilots by a factor of dozens.
I'm pretty sure these are the same people who F1 when they're just out of range and then boost over to me before they log off, so that I have no proof. Im also pre4tty sure they're in the same class of people who ram me with their starfleas in the first 5 minutes they're online saying "OH NO U DAMAGE ME BAN BAN!!!1!"
The only problem being, they have really big guns.
Today ALONE, this has happened at least 3 times to me. Here's how it generally sums up.
Me: 'ey! hold 'et!
Trader: Crap..cut the engines!
Me: Good
Trader: OK, pirate, what do you want?
Me: we-
Lolcap: Pcfisyt u have 5 sek till i shot!!!11!!1
Me: Aw, look, a cruiser, jus' fer me!
Lolcap: u talk funn1 leev lan r dai!!!1!
Me: Eh?
Trader: Eh?
Lolcap: DAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: what tha'-?

Now, there's no way you can tell me that the Navy is giving command of gigantic capital ships bristling with enemy weaponry to retarded captains with various speech disorders in atime of war. That's just stupid.
Now, so this isn't just another rant about the issue, I propose that ownership of a Capital-class vessel (excluding Gunboats) should require membership in a Faction and the required rank, or otherwise permission from the faction.

....Yeah, this brings us back to the whole "Capital ships should be either factionalized or controlled by the respective factions" debate, And I'm willing to bet a handful of the naysayers to that solution have changed their minds by now.

ok i know how you feel and other crap like this, but you do know the only way to make it better is to talk to the lolcap and try to explain.
Last night i met a "Soon to be LoLcAp".. He might not be one and actually see him on the forums. Yea he F-1'nd on me while i was pirating with smilly faces and lol. But the only way to help him and us all is by teaching them, given some do not want to listen nor learn (Permaban them)
about the last part with "ownership" and all, it was suggested many times before and NO. i hate caps but there are many indy great RPers out there
