Requesting permission to use technology when there appears to be no "official" Player Faction - Seylah - 12-17-2011 I want to fly one of the new Unioner ships in 4.86, so lately I've been trying to contact/make relations with Unioner players but I've only ever seen one of them online (he logged shortly after, so I didn't get to speak with him). I want to use the Unioner ship with a generic Pirate ID. My question is how do you go about getting permission to fly someone else's ship with a generic ID when there appears to be no official player faction? I've searched the forums and I have yet to find a Unioner category. I am willing to earn permission to fly one of the new Unioner fighters in game, my problem is that I've never seen any of these players in-game. I am willing to work and earn this technology in-game. What does one do in this situation? EDIT: Nevermind, I found what I was looking for. Apparently the LWB and the Unioners use the same forum and it is listed under "AGS." I would still like an answer to this question, though. Requesting permission to use technology when there appears to be no "official" Player Faction - Azan27 - 12-17-2011 Short answer is that you can't. If there isn't an official player faction, that tech is locked down. Requesting permission to use technology when there appears to be no "official" Player Faction - Veygaar - 12-17-2011 Erm... I believe it is considered green cell actually? Lemme go find green text... I believe it is considered green cell actually? The green text you're looking for is in the thread about the Molly faction disbanding. It's red cell. Edit: Here you go. It's not actually green text, but it's from an admin. Emphasis mine. ' Wrote:Molly stuff is controlled by the Mollies. Of which there are none at present. They've clearly allowed themselves to be decommissioned. That is to say, their bases haven't been abandoned and left open to looters from across known space. It's just that they don't exist, officially. They have no voice. No leaders. No guiding light. Requesting permission to use technology when there appears to be no "official" Player Faction - Veygaar - 12-17-2011 I believe that was a one case scenario, due to the fact that a majority of the tech also belonged to the LR. Nothing in Athenian's statement implies that this is a special case. He also backed up the claim in another thread, in a general sense, using Mollies as an example. ' Wrote:If no official faction represents the NPC group who possesses the technology it may be used in the same fashion as the previous system: Namely by virtue of self governance and forum established fiction. The statement he made about the Mollies' tech can be equally applied to any faction's tech and there is no reason to assume otherwise. |
