NPC's - marauder - 05-05-2006 The NPC's are fairly easy to slaughter in their hundreds once you've got a VHF and outfitted it with weapons and equipment. So what do you people think about having NPC's that can seriously kick butt with the average player? NPC's - Jamez - 05-05-2006 I take it you havent fought the bret NPC templars.... Also, NPC capital ships should have shields. Those are too easy to pwn even by a fighter with no anti bs weapons. Even a starflier can take them down. well, given time :P I think NPC skill for the most skilled npc is set to 19. NPC's - Dab - 05-05-2006 Igiss already highered the skill. Make it much harder and there is no way for new people to fight them until they have VHFs with codenames. People, things are easy for you for the main reason that your ship is sooo much better. Don't try taking on patriots in a VHF try taking them on with a patriot as well. Use the same ship they use and you find they are quite competant fighters. Do the storyline. They are much better than before. The missions you do for the blood dragons is a good example. They are okay against a dragon HF. Make them much more and noobs will leave due to the difficulty of doing anything, not to mention they will lose everything not equiped now and will cause them to leave. NPC's - Korrd - 05-05-2006 I guess you are right :( NPC's - Kane - 05-05-2006 Oh man... those Templars suck. Get a good number of them on your tail as a cap ship, they'll eat you alive. Trust me, almost happened with DarkStar! They just kept flying around and eating my shields. I had to use Batts to finish them off! (Admittedly, they did have Destroyer and Gunboat backup, and I was concentrating on those, BUT STILL!) I'm not sure I want to go after the Rhinland elite fighters... I use those Hornvipers MKII's, and they're nasty. I'd hate to see what they do against another player, especially with a few Firekiss MKII's with them. I think the NPCs are ok... most of the time were on a small battle anyway. If any PC come up against a real fleet of NPCs (Elite fighters and capships), they would get eaten alive. Sure, you'd take a few with you, but you'd still be dead. NPC's - Fellow Hoodlum - 05-05-2006 I think leave them as they are ... The best arguements are from Dab and Kane, and those Rheinland Elite guys have kicked serious ass ... mine included. The SP game is fairly hard now and if it gets any harder we will all be in the perfoption file altering the difficulty scale to finish it. Hoodlum :) |
