Oh, and originally the detonation range was 100, not 64.
This is the nerf that made a lot of bomber pilots unhappy.

How about REMOTE MINES!!!! C:

Hell that would be cool. Something you deploy and it never vanishes until someone actually touches it. But it wont move like a magnet, like other Mines. It'll stay where it is.

Or Remote Controlled Mines so ye you can set off when you click "Drop Mine" again.
