Cruisers and above of any faction cannot attack a Trader/Smuggler
The moment the Trader starts shooting demands go out the window.
Once the Trader docks he's fled, if he open's fire he's re-engaging, if the trader kills without making demand then he's in deep trouble.
Pardon me, Del, but could I get some clarification here, please?
Quote:6.20 Attacking traders or demanding cargo is not allowed for cruisers and battleships, unless cruisers and battleship belong to Terrorist ID or Phantom ID owner.
4.3 Factions are free to restrict or not restrict access to their home systems and tax players who enter home system. Access to systems that surround home system must not be restricted unless there's a war with another faction.
6.7 All PvP/RP rules listed below in section 6 are void in the following situations:
...
- In systems belonging to server factions and in Connecticut - level 30 limit is not active;
Hypothetical situation:
I am flying a firefly with a trader ID - the perfect 'free trader' kind of person, looking for new trade routes. I go into Virginia / Omicron 94 / Salisbury / Omicron 85. It just so happens that, due to circumstances and assorted encounters, I'm neutral with the npc's there, and the only PC that happens to be in system is in a battleship.
He orders me to leave the system, and I thumb my nose at him and move on in to dock - maybe I want to buy a ship, or drop off some cargo there - who knows what.
Under the faction rules, said battleship is going to blow my butt up - and that would be acceptable. Or am I mistaken?

I think it is clear how pirates should act and how Traders should (Dont mind the corsair Pirates in those lunchboxes they allways want to eat the trader;)) the problem is that traders, many of them are new and you dont get any rp from them before they open fire, i like pirating in light vessels Scimitar or my slip its hard i know i heard many times the phrase " Look at that little brave one " but its fun and makes you feel much better when you succeed on a light fighter than a GB (no fun in that).
ill say it once more Traders Please you are part of the RP as well try to make us let you go or something give appealing arguments we might lower the rate (i always do) or even let you go in some cases.
But you are also have to obay other rules of PVP so.... enough said
To be honest it would be useful to relax this rule for certain very well defined RP situations. I'm thinking primarily of planetary defence. If for example Liberty has a cruiser providing orbital defence for Manhattan, and a transport undocks with a full load of counterfeit software, why shouldn't the cruiser be able to order the trader to halt and use force if he doesn't? Similarly, if a Corsair Praefect is in the vicinity of Crete and sees a transport full of Passengers, surely it is MORE oorp for him to do nothing than to act, given Crete's canon-RP food situation?
EDIT: Should add that my biggest ship right now is a bomber, and the biggest ship I've ever had was a gunboat
No longer active online due to a dwindling amount of non-PvP (trading, pirating, mining, etc.) fun in the new version.

Better make that a Corsair Praefect spotting a transport full of <strike>passengers</strike> -food-.:P
