Lol Gezza: "us", me and you, we, not "United States"! I'm thoroughbred Englishman myself :0P

You might notice one of the things that makes station / gate turrets that ineffective is the refire rate. Chaingun Solaris would cause too much havoc, they're not particularly effective without constant firing and several station / gate turrets per station / gate doing that all over Sirius is surely not going to do our latency any favours. Turrets with the same power as Cruiser ones, with Cruiser refire would ward off evil-doers sufficiently I'd think.

Though I'm still unhappy about stations with the capability of destroying player VHF's in seconds, players will avoid the smaller ship types and just sit in front of hostile stations in their Cruisers and Battleships. Won't somebody think of the little fighters? :0(

I don't think its a good idea to stick chainguns on stations... think of the lag when enemies are near stations, which is nearly all the time.

I do agree with beefing up base/JG weapons.... its pathetic at the moment, they might as well shoot marshmellows. But then again bases can't be destroyed anyway, so what's the difference.

Well.. If sat outside a Rouge base killing everything outside it ,the base wouldn't be able to do anything cause its weapons are absloute sh*te. And bases WOULD have good weapons. Either we could have better weapons on the stations or mabye we could place a couple of weapon platforms around each of the bases?

Personally I think the turrets should be upped in damage and not change anything else - as it is now they are very innacruate, IMO, the damage should be upped to 5,000 per hit (shield and hull) But that is just my opinion.

Onca, you are right in saying that you can't destroy bases, but you can certainly stop them from shooting temporary (is that written right?). If your in a fighter just dive and hug the base's hull then take out the turrets one by one. The only problem with this is that when your almost done the turrets you took out first come back online. I do remember though in SP before my coming here, you could take out the base's turrets permanently (or at least till you left the system); maybe this could be used if the stations recive an upgrade.

Been here since Discovery 4.77 (lurk mode engaged)

Zapp Wrote:I have recently met and discussed with Atalawohisdi the trader that flies the Caribe. Just so everyone knows, I engaged in Sigma 13. He flies through half the system before going back to New Berlin, where he cruises from one side of the system to the other, hugging the sun as close as he can. All the while, he flies near Battleships trying to scrape me off. I finally send out the white flag, and move back to Sigma 13. However, it was a ruse, and he bit. Knowing his trade route, I interdicted the trade lane and the chase began anew. It ended, an hour after it began, with me retreating, out of Countermeasures and getting very irritated.

He kept boasting how he has never been caught; I'd like to see him beat until he begs to pay, then beaten some more.

- Best day ever. Cool

@Caribe: Almost right, the word you're after is "temporarily" :)

Yep I see your point.... stronger guns on bases will also discourage dock raping, at least if the person is an enemy of the base.

But having the guns knocked off when you shoot 'em might be a bit of a problem.... at what point do they respawn back?
