That'd mean people couldn't mine themselves after the fight is over to not spend <five minutes of traveling to dock.

Good.

People forget my problem with people self-nuking is that it makes people -impossible- to intercept on the way back to their dockpoint, and basically lets people choose when people want to encounter them with a freedom of choice conventional flight doesn't give.
