It will take a lot of work rewriting infocards and editing IFFs and reps, with 0 positive impact on the game.

Instead of wasting time and effort on that, the now useless restrictions that were once added to "nerf" IDs for the (imagined) benefit of other IDs should be removed. Examples: Xenos cant ask for credits, Order cant enter systems with gates with caps, Zoners cant dock 5k in house space, only zoners can fly zoner whale, nomads have no economy, nomad RP has to be ***challanged***, mining factions too specialized, ZOIs too small.

While there exists background for those corps merging in disco, it should get good written lore of rutheless corporations trust/cartel/syndicate, keeping monopoly over patents and technologies on civilian goods market. And i have BIG DOUBTS that will be done in proper way, and not another flat thing.

IDs have restrictions to maintain balance and prevent themselves from becoming be-all, do-all factions. Each ID is designed to play a select role. For example if Zoners could use transports in House space you'd be signing all other trade factions a death sentence.

I will say though the Cryer ID got horrible unfair nerfs years ago and I'm not sure if they were ever taken off. It's what killed one of the only Cryer OFs we've had in a decade.

Yeah, I was expecting you to repeat that "be-all do-all" phrase again. Too bad you just keep repeating it like a mantra over and over while being unable or unwilling to see that in the era of disco we're in, its just that... and empty phrase that has lost its meaning years ago.

Disco doesn't suffer from "do all be all factions", like... at all. There is no ID that is "OP" or "too popular" or that needs to have its activity "spread out".

What disco suffers from is that people don't like to play anymore. And a part of that is that people can't fing things to do, or people to interact with, on a ship and faction that they actually enjoy playing as.

Keeping IDs nerfed for the imagined benefit of other IDs (which are themselves nerfed for the same reason) is now counterproductive in every way: all it does is make you create throw-away chars you dont really care for across multiple factions, that makes playing more anonymous, harder to make new friends, harder to find people you enjoy interacting with, harder to rp something you actually like rping, harder to integrate new people because more restrictions means more to learn, more frustrating when you find out that no matter what you do "you cant do that" is a constant experience everywhere you turn.

We have about 80 IDs, more than we have players online at one moment. Factions will die. That is unavoidable.

You're not doing disco a favor by making every ID worse in the hope that people will play another ID instead.

There used to be a time when it made sense, but that time is long gone, and will probably never come back.

This. Stop removing diversity. Even if just a player or two play the faction, don't strip them of their fun. Removing factions isn't what Disco needs. Bring back LWB too. There's not even need to discuss this further.
