Hel: 1,000,000
Dread: 3,360,000
After pounding,
Hel: 309,870
Dread: 511,220
Even more:
Hel: 190,200
Dread:98,170
So by the time Dread explodes, Hel has 122,500 health, but Dread wins at 361,800 using a Vidar.

You?

...did...?

HUH?!

..what is this math I see?!

Try to fight a RM Cruiser in a Hel, then try the same in a Vidar. You will soon see that the Vidar wins.

It doesnt, you can kite all the way in your cuddly RPC, the RM Cruiser will still have more armor (even with a CAU5 its more then your CAU8), more guns, more energy and can throw missles after you until your thruster explodes. The RM Cruiser is able to dodge pretty much everything you throw at it from some distance, while the RPC just dies once you accidentialy got close enough for the normal Cruiser guns.

I think he just posted his cruiser : battleship health ratio during various stages of fair connecticut duel. Doesn't really show much, since we don't know anything about weapon loadouts used or skill levels or anything else, except for armor and ships.

As for above discussion, well, I'd agree with you that it can be situational, depending on the actions of both heavy and light cruiser pilots. I'd give my preferences to Vidar, though - maybe cause I'm more used to frontal assaults, then kiting tactics, due to the nature of ships I often fly. Taking Hel into engagement with RM cruiser is definitely more risky. you can't make any serious mistakes in those.

Snide comments by Govedo aside - both these models are getting a replacement come 4.87, so the relative balance between these changes, with new initial arcs set by yours truly.

PS, whenever I read "favoritism" I stop reading the arguements being made. Just a FYI. Harping on the devs like that isn't going to get stuff fixed.

Hel = good arcs, few turrets, small size, low hitpoints, low energy
Vidar = front heavy, a lot of turrets, bigger size, good hitpoints and energy

The use of either depends on the situation. I wouldn't take a Hel into a fight that needs firepower for example, but it's perfect for harassment/support or anti fighter duties. So for myself it's the Vidar (with 4 missiles so that I can actually get 8 for ultra Govedo flavoured cheese).
