(and I own over 40 Battletech books, just fyi. It was kinda my thing back in the day.
I agree. Those were the 2 best series. I myself own every BattleTech novel and game produced. I was/am a BattleTech junky. Sadly MWO does not impress me. They have strayed so far from the original game, and pretty much made it into a FPS.
The mechs are to fast and agile.
Weapons have varrying speeds(which is wrong)
Ranges are all screwed up.
They even messed up the timeline.

Yay!! Another Btech junky! We should totally chat and reminisce sometime.
I still have copies of the original Mechwarrior, Crescent Hawk's Inception and Revenge, and try to play them sometimes, although with newer computers they have trouble running. I played tabletop Btech AND Mechwarrior RPG as well.
I was kinda disappointed on how they ended the series (although the Twilight of the Clans series was EXCELLENT), and I haven't yet invested much in the Dark Ages timeline, although I do own the first book and it's interesting.

Yup. I still got a big bag of plastic mini's, and even some Ral Partha metal mini's. All the tech read outs, maps, and so on. I also got the Cresant halk games, but alas my comp runs them to fast, so hard as hell to play them. Shame really. They just do not make games like they used to.
