Stealthblade effect ftw.

Well, yea... Reusing lower end vanilla left-overs is already being done to some extent. Once LF guns are settled and its decided which factions are getting their own, some of the older effects will most probably be recycled for them. Even now, the Liberty civilian guns use one of the old cl4 tachyon effects from vanilla, and the gun models themselves aren't anything new, and actually were unused vanilla models.

Stuff like that means much less work than making new content so its always favored by the dev team helps maintaining variety while also keeping the vanilla feeling of the mod, so it's always one of the first options we consider.

I still don't get why the more awesome and nostalgic vanilla gun effects on some of the guns and (almost) all of the BS primary and secondary turrets for example were changed... I prefered the old vanilla effects and it makes me a bit sad that someone put so much work into changing them, as they didn't need to be changed. Some gun effects look arguably better, yes, but especially the BS turrets are somewhat meh and bland ...I prefered the old ones. Just something that I do not understand, and, while I really appreciate the work put into them, don't get me wrong, I deem it not just unnecessary but also taking something away from the game.

Anyway, I hope for the Light Fighter guns that the solution will be good. Honestly I must say I didn't look at all new LF guns yet: only saw the Bluebell, Flashpoint, Kusari and Gallic ones.

And ... actually I hope that all factions with their own gun series will get LF guns, to be honest. O;
Also, quite interested in what the Class 8 rework will bring, because I feel like the damage has finally been balanced rather well, compared to before. Only the efficiency needs to be fixed. Guess some tweaks here and there might be an option as well, like guns being balanced around more than just dmg: dmg being balanced with regards to refire, speed and range, etc...But I leave that to you until you release it and I can make new, nice graphs and all. :3

I think all has been said, and I'm happy with hearing that for LF guns the effects of vanilla low class guns will be considered ...

(... of course there's still other effects that bug me...as mentioned before...but...one thing at a time.)

personaly the old Vampire projectiles (not the sky blue ones the Vanilla ones) were the best that red fit their name "Vampire" but hey something tells me people won't agree.

Sent me a Comm? Haven't received a reply in a reasonable time span? Sorry! Post here and I'll get back to you asap!

Sorry to disappoint you, but the current Vampires are (almost; they have a little bit more effect to them now, which is great) how they were in vanilla. They had a civilian look to them. The red vampires (which I consider horrible unfitting for IMG and way too much like OC guns, I hope other people agree on that as well, since I pushed for getting back the vanilla effects a lot back before .87) were put in place for CR at some point of Disco development. And in .86 IMG guns got the light blue projectile color, which looked too much like the Bret guns imo... Weirdly, I know other mods also had red projectiles for IMG guns...

Vanilla (with no modifications except for the directx blah and the high resolution):

Matterthief 2 being fired. Vampires were the same color with a bit different style. Also there was no Class 9 Vampire gun.

Anyway, going off topic here, but I guess for LF guns we will have to wait and see. Really looking forward to it. Hope all factions get LF guns over time and many of the effects can be reused decently and fitting somehow.
