God forbid if you can't enjoy a game because it isn't real.
But I disgress, I liked the original Red Alert because it was a lot more serious. Sure, some things were far-fetched, but the whole tone of the game was perfect. The acting wasn't extremely over the top, either.
RA2 was just incredibly silly, for no reason at all. RA3 is the same.
I'll be honest I prefer Red Alert 2 the most out of the series. Yes it was cartoon like but i found it enjoyable. Action and comedy work well for me.
Red alert 3 however, I will agree it has gotten stupid. I hate the micromanagement, and it is trying way to hard to be a joke. Also for lonely rejects such as myself the complete CO-OP nature drives me bonkers. That AI does nothing but get in my way. Its hard enough to micro manage my units let alone having to wory about what my ally is doing.
OMG I LOVE THE AI
My ally decided the best course of action to defeat those bastard Allies, was to mass an army of subs and move them against a cliff near the enemy base! It was an enemy air base, too, so while I got my ass bombed from three different sides, my ally continued to build subs. UGH!

Yeah, my ally just massed those akula subs and tried to move them into the enemy base, which was on land. Not very successful.
Kirovs are the bomd droping zepplins. They were effective but he wasted allot of resources on them. I was able to do the job with the sniper commando and a bunch of infantry from some bull frogs.
You really haven't seen much of the acting in Westwood and EA C&C games, have you?
It's always been talentless models, that either act over the top, or just do something to generally annoy you...
In the RA series, the best acting came in the first. It wasn't over the top. It was simple.. A few actors who knew how to convey the right emotions for their lines goes a long way. RA2 and 3 have similiar styles... Just too over the top.
In the C&C series, Joe Kucan (Kane) is one hell of an actor, and no matter how bad whoever with him acts, he carries it.
