As far as I know, model wise probably.

Would be pretty neat to see a new OS&C small transport/freighter/yacht, whatever, but the Pelican should not be touched. It's a vanilla model and therefore certainly won't get remodeled, and balance-wise it works perfectly for what it is.

The OSC small freighter is already textured, I'm working on hardpoints and INIs , the small transport is under production, cause the one I made previously stood out from the rest too much. Also, since the Pelican is not really OS&C production, but a civilian design, I did't want to drag it into the same bunch, thus the separate thread. About the yacht part ... the Democritus is pretty much there, I might try and make it look more "luxury Yacht" - ish.

It is a very good ship when it comes to pvp, but I would hardly call it a trade ship. Leave it be as it is, the low powercore balances out the good agility and size as well as the lack of ability to mount heavy transport shields.

Very much agreed. As to other points, the pelican is extremely useful to beginners. It can double as a trader and escort, at least until you make enough to move up. Although as an highly active pelican user I can think of some tweaks I wouldn't mind, But fear that like much art, if we start waving a paint brush at it again it might wind up ruined.

I have thought for some time I wished it was a freighter, it can almost maneuver like one, so the speed would be nice...but at the same time if it did go freighter, I assume would suffer power core drop. The one thing that makes a huge diff between a pelican and a freighter is the power output. Sure you can catch any ship with a freighter, but can you take out any ship? As a pirate, I turned to the pelican for its firepower, and take the speed loss. So what if they can't catch up to snubs....they can keep up with fellow transports....which is perfect for police or piracy work.

As to the model, it ain't pretty, but it's like a symbol of disco. One of the first ships you see when you start vanilla is a pelican (dropped trent off at Manhattan after FP7). I've never minded having a seemingly ugly and impotent ship that turns out to be very practical and deadly to those who underestimate the it. So when I say I support leaving it as it is, it's tempting to want to see what a new version would be like but in the end don't really feel it's necessary. It's ok, I know I'm a little bias!

Other capitols at least have good enough weapons , flaks , shields and Decent Cruise speed to protect them self , Bustard have nothing ! [Image: sad.gif]

Need I remind you this is not about other ships ? I'm collecting feedback on the Pelican and nothing else. Thank you.

The pelican shouldn't be touched. Although i wouldn't mind another armored transport coming in. Why can't we keep both?
