look at the trail i think i failed.

You should try to make the center of the engine trail appear as white.

To give the ship the little moving touch, use the motion blur option. Carefully select the angle to use and only use the motion blur where it makes sense (as in: no blur towards the front, as your ship is moving forward, not backwards)
