I think basically, one of the heavily armed transports, a neutral-ish gunboat or a neutral-ish bomber would be the things to go for if you were only getting one ship.

An Eagle with all civilian or code guns with a Freelancer IFF and ID can quite literally go anywhere unless I'm mistaken.

its not a gunboat, its not a transport... its a yacht. and its totally neutral and designed for maximum escape potential should a nasty combat situation arise.
