thats always a problem in freelancer....

what makes a ship look like a scoutship / sensorship / explorer in the distant future? - antennas are so ww2, parabol dishes in space are also somewhat strange. - rotating radar sticks might look fine - but i got no idea how to apply an endless animation to a ship. - a sphere with a supposed sensor inside - well... thats just a sphere then.

how does vanilla do it? - rotating sat dish on stationary sensors & antennas that look a bit like bart simpsons hair cut ( on top of the newark station model tower )



and then - a real explorer would probably extend sensor gear when its "deployed" while it would retract it while its flying around. - our ships are always flying around - so one could only possibly RP sensor equipment as much as one can RP fighters on a carrier battleship.

anyway - i m open for suggestions how "sensor gear" might look like.

edit:

hm - white goes best ( visibility ) on the default forum layout imo. - i can use a black background - but that ll make dark parts less visible

Well I'd always imagine a sensor gear in freelancer -could- look like a radar dome. But that's just my opinion, for al I know radar domes might be extremely outdated and inefficiently technology in the real world.

I'd rather see generic gunboats for other houses rather than re-creating an existing gunboat, tbh.

First small side wings should be pulled down a bit.. I mean whole side wing thing should be pulled down .. rotated

Then those kusari looking wing at buttom should be on angle, probably inside.. and moved to sides of ship

And in the end flip whole ship up side down..

Viola.. great ship:)

i really like the KUexplorer as it is, I think it's a good Kusari model, and fits its role very well. I would say dont change the model.

i also agree with above statement...but since this is only a concept i dont think current model will be replaced...however Jinx is on good way of making bastard child of templar and chimera...

and jinx, why not try a darker purple/blue colour?
