Back on Topic: Tbh, I think everyone should just follow Hoodlum's example, Give them fair warning about the infraction and if they tell you to 'get knotted' blow them to hell. Regardless of what the ID states. Either that or someone could form a Militia faction/group. Now imagine that as RP... I can think of several good points for that...
How are all the new players getting so many credits so soon in their careers.
I keep bumping into LVL67 characters in Liberty who in system chat ask "what are the good ships" and "where do i get them"... then when someone mentions a well known system such as theta they ask "where is that then".
What gives?
I can sort of understand faction "help" (even though I think there should be a max 100,000 credit starting bonus from a faction... to slow down the arms race on this server)... But most of them are unaffiliated.
I may start a one man crusade to part some of these fools with their money... Shame that some of their wealth doesn't drop when you kill them. ;) Either that or I'll take them on a tour to the temple... I believe Raven's Claws are for sale there :D... it would be a nice place to leave them.
for those that transfer. 3 million will put a char to level 39. and its enough to equip a good fighter including standard weapons and shield. - anyway, i don t have a problem with people that fly around with a false ID, unless i see them another time after they had plenty of time changing it.
anyway, its just another duty for the police / navy. treat them as violators in a roleplay sense. lvl 40+, freelancer ID = crime = can attack. even if its a freelance ID, i d be surprised if the admins would have a problem with it.
about the 2 destroyers. - well, as far as i know - a lot of police/navy own battleships, now THERE is a reason to get into the captains chair for once and outgun those little destroyers in a roleplay way. i still believe that not every single violation must be reported, there are sanctions and reports EACH DAY every single day, that can t be right.
new players learn more when things are solved in a roleplay way by roleplaying. when they are sanctioned and reported in an out-of-character way, they only learn one thing, to fear the admin and if they ever encounter a similar problem while THEY are on the safe side of the rules, they will prolly rather go the reporting way, than the roleplaying way to solve the problem.
' Wrote:A 'certain trade route' which is gonna get lost in the new mod... if only I knew of this 'certain trade route' when I first started here as well.
At least I can say I earned my keep until I could afford my first Destroyer, like so many others...
I know the route you are talking about (as does just about anyone who has played more that 10 mins)... but that isn't it. These players don't know about anything... not vacuuming prisoners from a planet to a battleship... not anything.
They don't know about the factions, or ships or guns or anything.
Even if you'd travelled across Bretonia and spent hours docking and undocking you would have picked up something. I've seen a couple in LVL 40+ players in Starflyers asking which ships are where...
If they had been doing trade runs they at least would have trade ships.
Just sit for 10 mins in NY and you'll get someone doing it. (Or maybe I've just been really unlucky).
' Wrote:i think, when someone make a new char, and then make a money transfer.he still begin in new york or no?and is so big problem buy neutral id on mannhatan? i think no.
and i also think hugo is meaning two outcast destroyers that was in gamma and when was asked why they has not buy id on the same base as ships, then answer was because we are not friendly to outcast....(and police tagged outcast destroyer with freelancer id in gamma docking on crete is totaly out of rp i think)
Buying neutral id or trader id should not be problem if u r more then lvl 40. All new players should be told that, so there was not a problem.
But players who have only 1 char, and don`t know how to unmount ID before buying new ship, could be a problem...
Well i was on patrol when i saw those 2 as well but in tau 37, engaged my cruse engines to intercept them, told em to fix their Rp and buy an ID that can pilot Outcast DS (outcast, mollys, drogons) and they told me they will buy molly ID, pointed them in dublin to buy ID, and they went there, i logged soon after that...
But i was a rookie too on disco, commonly forgeting to buy id when buoght new ship, but lucky there was always some good players to tell me of my mistake:D

about the 2 destroyers,do you mean that new player has 60 milions to ship and another 10-20 to weapons? when someone have 80 milions i think he is not new player.you need some time to have so much money.and when you start and will join a faction, all factions has some question about rules or no?and yes you have right, new players learn more when things are solved in roleplay, but only when the players will learn.when i was new,i ask many players many things, because for me is better ask as make something again rules.but there must be will to learn.
(when i meet a rheinland Gb,with rheinland military ID,is all correct, but when is with him osiris with zoner id, from that same fraction, that is not ok.and when i say them one fraction can not have diferent id,answer was:realy?i dont know that.)
