Well, as Eppy so eloquently said, the QCO are willing and able (near enough, ignoring technical difficulties, coursework and the holiday period, anyway) to help out new players.
In fact, the QCO's primary purpose is the integration of new players into the server. That and shooting Kusari.
Well, my two cents here. Don't be afraid of veteran players, there are no saints here, all people have their preferences and things they like or not. Sure, there are holier-than-thou people around, just ignore them, don't let yourself be dragged into petty politics and flames. This game tends to be more personal than others due to the small but tight community where people tend to know each other closer. It's both a blessing and a curse, especially when some e-drama occurs, but even these things can be dealt with without losing your head. There are lots of players who are willing to help newcomers, people who put their time and effort to guide and offer their help around. Stay calm, it's just a game, and the point of it is to enjoy the experience we gain from playing it.
Do not believe every spoken word here, if something is said here it doesn't necessarily has to be true. Judge with your own head, have your own opinion and decide what you want to be there. Have fun and good luck on your adventures in Discovery.
' Wrote:Archangel:)You`re not new on this server:)you play here for a long time. You`re a chieneese guy that study in Canada. I even know your name:)
Good like mate!
P.S. Thx for good battle today.
I am serious...this guy is not me...this one is a real new player....
1. Talk to them first, tell them you are new, and they will replace your losses.
I have killed newbies before, mostly if you tell them to HALT and they do not, there is no time to scan. But, I
also paid like 500k for the mishap and provided escort. So, most people if they kill u, it is an honest mistake.
2. If the player in question did not provide compensation, talk to the Admins, they will talk to the player and either he will assist u, or be banned.
As far as docking, I have had this problem before, if you can, just redock.
I hope you don't have a negative attitude about Disco, this is a good mod for a great game. If you stick around long enough you will find politics ga-lore, which add a whole new fel to the Freelancer world.
I found it a bit intimidating at first as well. but i soon got over all that. No-one here is really scary (except maybe bulldog, but hey... if you tickle him under the chin he's ok)
Yeh. Enjoy it, read and learn the rules, but before going and reporting someone, just try to sort it out with them first. Most people don't realise they have made a mistake, and it's better just to have a chat with them about it.
Edit....
Nice, but horrible avatar CJD and is your name a reference to mad cow disease???
