Xenos call it a 'Xeno Battleship' and yea, it works for pirating.

Discordianism: the Schroedinger's Cat of religions.

Pros(compared to Ptrans):
-more armor (slap on at an CAU5 and it makes a 100k Difference)
-More regens(about 200 more i think)
-better agility
-Looks kewl
-Cheaper (not sure now)
-360 degrees CD arc
Cons:
-Big as barn
-one turret less fireing forward
-less cargo space

Hegemon is more agile than PTrans.

Gravedig... heh.

As for the initial question, I bet many of Dublin miners remember The.False.Miner
The guy was kinda effective in his pirating.

6.10 Player reputation and conduct must match player actions. You fly a civil Hegemon, you mine or transport ore, nothing else.

That's a bit of a stretch. I'm going to go out on a limb and disagree with you. I don't think any admin would sanction someone for pirating in a Hegemon.

That's like sanctioning the GRP for pirating in Gallic civy ships. While we may not be using the ships for the purpose which they were built, being defensive ships for Gallic civilians, we can still use them. As they're both readily available to us, and the rule which you've stated doesn't actually cover what you've said.

Whether or not it's a civilian 'mining ship' is irrelevant. It's considered open use, and it's on the open market.

Maybe you RP a miner who became a pirate? His conduct and reputation would both reflect that, were he to use a Pirate ID, or any ID which can pirate.

Mine while you wait for prey. Interesting concept.

I remember there was once, a Rheinland Military IFF and IDed Hegemon. He had full mining turret loadout and hold filled with Nuclear devices.

He attacked Texas with it. He claimed that he would crash into Planet Houston with the hold full of Nuclear devices and blow up half the planet.

Interesting how he tried to engage a LABC with mining turrets. Oh, and he failed to ram into Houston, he was motared.
