Err, after re-reading the whole text here i have to say there is nothing unusual here:

Quote:78+ during gaming... Idling around 50-60

CPU tmeps are hanging around 40c and the PCB temp is 44c, GPU is at 53c with these temps.

Yeah I was typing during differing situations, during a game, game only just turned off and when the computer had a chance to cool long after the game.

So there will be inconsistent temps, and I'm looking at ways to combat the GTX 470's apparently infamous hot running. I'm even looking into buying another card for some 2-SLI configuaration, though that'll add to lower air flow possibly. I may have to break out my grandad's welding gear to slice a lovely slot for a new fan.

Run furmark if you really wanna hardcore test your system.
But as long as your GPU temp is about 80°C you are fine, that's really normal.

As for SLI, i had already answered you overthere.
