I hope with Rebirth they either decide to go with a space sandbox or an empire building game instead of trying to fuse the two as they have before. It'd end up being a lot more fun that way.

I never really liked the whole simulation aspect. The controls were...hard to use. But I only played X2, so meh.

If you know how to use them, something that needs more than 1 week, it's very fun. Build space stations and get a huge fleet. The opportunities are nearly endless...wonder how Rebirth will look like, especially with the new design.

The serie is with no doubt one of the best Spaceoperas and -simulations available. Give it a try!
Some of the missions (especialy BalaGi Research Missions in X-tended) are the best (mod of the year!) of the best!

1) Get old X³ Reunion, im shure you can find a used CD realy cheap as it is already old stuff.
2) Download X-tended mod (was mod of the year once) at http://www.thexuniverse.com/content/150-Th...ended-Mod-0.7.5

or

1) Get followup X³ Terran Conflict (X³TC) used CD
2) Download X-tended mod for X³TC same homepage.

There is lots of docu and multiple realy huge helpforums, so you can find a sollution to any problem you will run into or find advice how to do what you want to in best way. There are countless geniouse scripts and extensions.

It has Tractorbeams that can tow big asteroides, autotrader mode that make your tradevessels earn cash or serve your stations autonomouse, autoguard mode that tell your Battleships or Fighters to guard your territory and stations, shieldhacker devices that enable you to steal anything loose from any Fighter to Battleship, Capturefrigattes that enable you to capture and take over enemy battleships, Your own homebase capable of docking a fleet of Battleships, recycle captured ships, reproduce recycled ships....

The X series were always the best space-sim games even from the beginning. I hope that the game will come out soon so we can enjoy the new graphics and storyline of the X Universe.

My favorite mod was the BSG mod. I hope that after launching this game some x fans will make a new bsg mod with better graphics and also ambient.

The game itself is made for Ipad/Iphone and is a very fun game but with a limited amount of ships and weapons..

This is not some kind of Freelancer 2 game.

Bad voice acting
Not much to do except the storyline.

All missions are boring as hell (not Storyline ones).

So, I liked it, its a fun game to play in iPad if you are bored as hell.

Would I get it to PC? Naaah
