It had been two years since Senior Agents Wilson and Carter suffered their fatal fiasco that got them both reassigned to less hands-on duty. Wilson had been eager to promote a desk jockey agent, a behavioral analyst with no field experience, and that had proved fatal. Analyst Philip P. Browne got in the fast lane and with the help of the two Senior Agents he went from teaching to commandeering a cruiser in less than 6 months. Sadly Agent Browne had proven unfit for the task. The Liberty Siege Cruiser 'Capitol Hill' complete with full crew was lost in the Omicrons in the spring of 818, never to be heard from again. The aftermath had been hell for Senior Agent Carter. Promoting that pencil-pusher was not his idea to begin with, and he never liked it one bit, but Browne was all they had from their own ranks. There was no other alternative. But he was done listening to Agent Wilson. From now on, things were on Carter's terms, and he had found his man for the job.
Carter sat back in his chair, took off his glasses and sat with his eyes closed for a while. He had not spoken to Agent Wilson since the incident and their following reassignments. Wilson was still at Grisefjord handling field operatives. Carter scratched his forehead, leaned over his desk and pressed a button on his communication console. Wilson's bearded face showed up on the display. He was clearly a little anxious
'Wilson! I know you got the memo, you know why I am getting in touch with you. We've been assigned to handle a new field operative, and this time we do things my way, you understand?'
Agent Carter leaned back in his chair once again. He was hell bent on never failing again, and in this case that meant taking full control of the situation.
[color=#FF6600]'Ok, ahem yes I got the memo, I am briefed'¦ Sir, I guess it is now? TacOps top branch are reacting to a reported increase in illicit activities in Alaska and the Omicrons. Traders and Freelancers are getting access to restricted areas, and if Government doesn't respond, Liberty research ' corporate and military ' might be sidelined by advances made by other powers active in these systems. We want operatives out there.'
Wilson shrugged his shoulders, looking slightly more comfortable. He had prepared himself for this meeting.
'Good. You did your homework. So you know the candidates, and you know which one I want. No psycho babble this time round, no 'behavioral analysts'. This time we're getting a real straight shooter. This guy knows how to get the job done. I just need you to sign the form, and we're done. And yes, you are damn right it's Sir to you!'
Carter knew Wilson would be pushed over easily, and now it was only a matter of Wilson approving of Carter's decision and informing top branch. He had completely thrown off Wilson, who was looking more nervous than ever fiddling with his tie knot to, as if he was choking.
Quote:Name: Sean Lynn Age: 35 Place of birth: New Honolulu City, Planet Manhattan, Liberty Education/previous career: Born and raised on Planet Manhattan, his father a LPI officer and his mother a software engineer. Sean was a fast learner and never did much of an effort in school. He dedicated himself to sports from an early age, excelling in swimming and later on triathlon. Sean got offered a scholarship at an Ivy League university due to his merits in sports. Graduated with average grades in the summer of 804 A.S., aged 21. Was the University captain of the running team and the swimming team. Was drafted to the Navy Communication Officer Training Program at West Point in the fall of 805.
Service record: Completed the standard Navy Pilot training program satisfactory and supplied it with a 6 month Communication Officer program at West Point. Assigned to the Echelon Intel gathering program on Planet Manhattan as a junior analyst, served there for two years until asking for and receiving a transfer to active duty onboard the Carrier LNS-Fort Lauderdale, serving one year as a Junior Communication Officer. Returned to West Point in 808 A.S. to undergo Marine training. Completed in 12 months with outstanding results, and got promoted to Officer status due to his background in the Navy. Was given command of his own team of 120 Marines and 4 Grizzly's and headed a strike force nicknamed 'Shock and Awe' for five years through various on- and off-planet missions, including salvaging classified wrecks, boarding hostile ships and combating terrorists on planets and bases. Sean Lynn has participated in a large number of LPI operations, some of which were covert operations for the LSF. Returned to LNS-Fort Lauderdale as the commanding officer of all ground operations, served here for another 4 years.
Height: 191 cm Weight: 95 kg Eye color: Blue Skills: Excellent physical condition, a team player used to following orders. Can handle classified material accordingly, excellent service history and mission record, proven leadership qualities.
Summary:
Sean Lynn doesn't look like much of an officer, more like a surfer. He has always had a relaxed attitude, stemming from his ability to always keep up and his confidence in his abilities when push comes to shove. He is driven by overcoming challenges, which he has sought out through sports and later through his career in the marines. He only really have found himself comfortable leading his teams of Marines as it posed a constant challenge with ever-changing situations requiring fast adaption. Sean and his team has been active in several covert LSF operations including:
The Cold Bay Depot Incident: 7 Planetform scientists believed to be agents working for the Rheinland Government threatened to reveal the Planet Atka terraforming program shortly after the base was constructed in 816 A.S.. Sean Lynn's team infiltrated the base and eliminated two of the scientists and the remaining five surrendered to Lynn, who handed the over to the LPI, who in turn handed the scientists over to LSF.
Operation Full House: Intel gathered through a combination of interrogation of a Liberty Rogue incarcerated at LPI Sugarland supported by rumors from the Junkers lead to the interception of the Luxury Yacht 'Full Circle' housing a secret fundraising meeting between 120 Order Agents and their sympathizers near planet Allentown Base, Texas. Sean Lynn's team was assigned to the 'search and destroy' mission under Navy command. All 120 targets were successfully eliminated, and the yacht handed over to a LSF team gathering evidence of the conspiracy. The operation resulted in what was described by LSF analysts as "a severe setback to The Order's funding efforts".
Operation Deep Threat: The Navy Dreadnought LNS-Mount Rushmore was lost deep in Omicron Iota with valuable research onboard. The LNS-Fort Lauderdale was re-routed to Iota to recover the data, and Sean Lynn was personally in charge of the search and salvage team. The Carrier operated a full 2 days within Iota, launching constant fighter patrols to locate the wreckage based on the dreadnoughts last known position. The wreckage was finally located, but the ship was blown to pieces. A large chunk of the bridge was located and Lynn lead a zero-gravity team of 20 marines onboard the remains and got access to the wreck's data banks and recovered the intel. 3 navy pilots were lost to Nomads, and 4 of Lynn's zero-gravity team suffered from severe radiation poisoning. The operation was considered a stunning success, albeit costly in repairs to the LNS-Fort Lauderdale.
Agent Wilson looked at the file Carter had sent him. This Sean Lynn did indeed look like the perfect candidate. But Carter didn't know what Wilson knew. Wilson had performed a deep background check, and a few uncofirmed Junker rumours said that Mr. Lynn had certain vices. His love of sports had fueled a habit of gambling. Lynn was also rumoured to be frequenting St. Paul Base, supposedly acquiring marihuana to his own use. But these were of course just rumors.
'So? Sign it and I'll set it into motion. We will draft this fine young man to our service. He has the merits, the training, the experience, the leadership skills. He's our golden boy. Perfect for this job, Agent. We'll take him under our wings, keep him on a tight leash. What are you waiting for!?'
[color=#FF6600]'But Sir, I think'¦'
'Shut your pie hole, Wilson! I didn't ask you to think ' look where that got us the last time, remember? I asked you to sign that form and return it to me, so that is what you are going to do! Am I making myself clear?'
'Yes Sir. I uploaded the signed form to you. I'll be awaiting further orders. Agent Wilson out.'
Agent Wilson quickly moved to press the disconnect button, so he didn't have to listen to anymore of Carter's raging. This was Carter's call, so this time he would have to take the fall himself if something went wrong. Recruiting from other branches was always tricky, but Wilson had to agree that Sean Lynn had the papers needed to accomplish the task. Perhaps he would prove an asset if handled and trained well. Only time would tell...
