I agree that they are somewhat nice to have around, but I'd much prefer it if they had their ability to inflict damage significantly nerfed.

If you want to play a pirate character early in the morning it's a significant challenge to try and concentrate on stopping a trader while 2498129819823981 npc's are shooting at you and forcing you to constantly dodge. It's not so bad in Liberty but pretty much anywhere else they cause problems because a group of them can cause a significant amount of damage pretty fast.

Loken, you are supposed to pirate NPCs early in the morning. It's even more profitable.

The server automatically reduces the amount of NPCs that spawn when the server load increases to prevent lag. It's basically disco's high player count that causes the low NPC count. Go on one of the other servers and fly around a bit, you'll see.

NPC's should be removed ENTIRELY from the game!:D

ok that would suck, I think they should be made so that they Clip through Players ships, so they don't bump you around or get in the way of anything your trying to do...

At least make the Barge No Clip for NPC's D:
