Waterholes and Diarys etc really feel a bit too narcissistic in the end I felt.
I mean, sure what if I write the coolest most epic story post in my diary, at the end of the day very few if any people are going to bother reading it. so its just me reading it.. if its just me why bother putting it in the open? kinda makes me fee like im just doing it for attention. Which I don't really feel I need.
as for waterholes specifically, I think Zapp got it right, you have to wait for the other person to post, which might take weeks, by then the flow has been completely lost and you have lost interest. I dont ever mind writing huge posts in those threads because I enjoy the RP i do there. but a lot of people arent down with that so much, seemingly specifically new players.
Because forumlancer is lame and more people are realizing that and moving and actually playing the game instead of posting constantly on the forums XD =P
