that was also discussed. - while in RP the looser is dead ( and by that - non existent to the winner ) - the winner will still not like a pirate that hangs around a place the winner considers to be important, even if the winner himself is not currently in the same system.
furthermore, battles are usually much more complicated here. its not always a clear one against one. we have battles that have friends join in - dynamic battles - who is the winner then, who is the looser? people will not be certain anymore - and uncertainty can turn to wild interpretations.
for example - a it starts as a one vs. one. then one side gets 2 reinforcements, then the other 3. - one player dies from side 1, then side one gets 1 warship reinforcement - side 2 retreats one system. ( so the dead one from team one can stay in that system when we take the rule literally, especially since the others must not enter the system they retreated from again for 4 hours ) - then at the other side, side 2 gets reinforcements, too - now its a 3 vs. 5 - ppl join the fight and die. now its hard to determine who started it, when was it started etc.
lets say - team 1 looses finally - and the last member of that team burst into flames - just like 10 seconds after yet another reinforcement joined team 2. - that one was a bomber and was the one that finished the last of team 1. - for these 10 seconds, the winner is now locked down from engaging...... who exactly? - the one that he killed, the one that he never dealt with that died minutes before in the other system?
you see - ( and NO, that is no loopholing ) - its much more complicated than it may appear at first.
' Wrote:we had that already - the looser has to leave whatever system.
the situation we had back then was a pirate that was killed by the rheinland military. - he left the system and kept on pirating in dresden - the RM followed him and he had to leave again. - it led to "leaving the whole ZoI". so - the looser should better leave the whole zoi of the winner.
Nope... that was me who killed him in Hamburg
then he went to NB and I killed him again there.... and was accused of breaking the rules since I can't attack him => result was that I CAN attack him and he does not have to leave. But he actually can't re-engage me.
exactly because of this situation... you kill him in one system.. he comes to another and starts shooting your friends. You say it should be against the rules to defend them because I won?

I know this has all been discussed before, but I feel that if your character get killed in a fight, do not log on to that character for 4 hours. Most everyone here has multiple characters to keep us busy anyway.
It dosn't have to be an official rule, just good sportsmanship.

I hope that I don't get called a bad sport because my trader is killed (Not a trader ID) and I choose to stay logged on to that character.
