[color=#FFFFFF]You will hear your guns, because the vibration will transmit to the inside of the ship. You will hear impacts on your hull as well, but you won't be able to hear the dreadnought exploding, nor the enemies guns fireing

These events will obviously release electromagnetic signals of some sort which your ship can detect, shift, and process into sound.

The only acknowledgement of gravity in the entire game is in the Docking Ring and Heavy Lifter infocards.
Yes, if you have some way to generate momentum or counteract gravity, not by "magic."
  • superconductors
  • gyroscopes
  • adaptive thrusting
No FL fluff discusses antigravity.
In a true vacuum, space dust would not cause any deceleration in space. Angular and translational acceleration by thrusters would asymptotically bring a ship to the speed of light, not to some "maximum speed" defined by "angular_drag". Drag is air/fluid friction, yet there is negligible fluid in space. EDIT: you'd actually decelerate significantly in a gas cloud.

The sounds from ship weapons can actually be explained as a helpfully indicative electromagnetic interruption or detection on your shortwave radio, thus actually keeping with true vacuum...

Trade lanes would be possible with orbital mechanics.
They would simply have to move or be positioned in safe zones, while the planets etc orbit the stars anyway.

Although no FL fluff discusses gravity, aside from docking rings and heavy lifters, it doesn't mean that technology doesn't exist to counter it.
Our ships use incredibly powerful energy sources. Channelling some of that into small amounts of thrust would be simple.

Ships in Freelancer only go to a certain speed for gameplay reasons but can be explained inRP as perhaps safety measures. Our technology may not be advanced enough to cope with speeds higher than (Scanners etc)

Your idea about sounds is a good one alright, would explain it quite easily.

Facilitating the rise of robotics since 0 A.D.

These safe zones are severely limited (clicky) and would not accommodate trade lanes.

Aside from that Humans are Warriors....

Trent is Han Solo minus the awesome. He did nothing but go with the flow. As Klaw sais, we won by the biggest gamble in hostory.

Arguing with me over Order is like trying to defy gravity with our current technologu. It doesnt work

Not exactly, the intro just left a big plothole, so it's got like millions of interpretations, even the " nomads time traveled" to blow up the humans thinking it was before they reached Sirius" makes more sense in story than other nomads. I'ts not factual, it would be perfectly fitting and plotholeless is it was, and it's not gravity, it's a stupid plothole.

' Wrote:I admire your persistence in this matter, but at this point, it's gone too far. You're simply ignoring facts now.

I'm not ignoring, refuting, simply I think there's a possibility Earth would still exist, as well as it may be blown up, but seeing how everyone just gone "it blown up, period, now shut up".

Quote:Hey Guys! have you think about time travels?! I think Sol Nomads are future current Nomads, they've find the tech of the time travel, and decided to kill the humanity before her expension, because the humanity was too strong for Nomad. But that was to late humans have built Sleeper Ships and finally Times Travels aren't an exact science and Nomad didn't know, when did the Sleeper ships launch? The SOL System is finally dead for a good reason, we can now deal with it!

I was not arguing here, I was excited. And could you say what you think about this?

He just got the Macguffin, that's not gamble that's phlebotinum. And he's not Han Solo, He's a more awesome Ace Pilot One-Man Army that was able to fend of practically a fleet off Rheindlanders, which makes him even more awesome than Han Solo (Star Wars shields suck)

The Order beaten an entire nomad race with just hundreds of people and 2 macguffins, aside from the lots of artifacts in Sirius, either they're ninjas or spartans, or a badass army.

There's actually sound in space, albeit really low, just put really efficient sound amplifiers on your ship,. you can hear every pew pew you want, of course it has to have volume processors, or tyour own ship's sound would be deafening.

This is garbage. Sound only travels in a fluid or through material, not in a vacuum. Learn life.
