As your idea seems great and it would be awesome to see, it's sort of already in the works and called the Infinity Engine which is quite impressive. But in all honesty the multiplayer scene REALLY needs a lot more space games! Good luck!

Have the option depend on the server you're playing on. As with current servers on Freelancer, you can't join if you're using the wrong version of mod. In single player / free roam you could select your own setting, but online you'd have to comply with what your server was using.

im only good at writing things, but someone already offered :L





Just to confirm that you actually did make a game engine, maybe to a proof of concept video to demonstrate the engines capabilities? Would quell everyones "IMPOSSIBRU GAME ENGINE" thing.

I wil play that.

On a side note:
I would totally love it, if some other ship popped up and typed something like"20 mil or ENGAGABUG" in a speeachbubble as big as the planet.
Then you see some generic pews a bluemsg and how the player ragequits and gets on with his rl stuff..

That biplane just shot down my jet!

Cool engine! Too bad they won't be going as an in-depth MMO. But yes, some of my portions will act like what you see in the video.

The only problem with showing a demo is not having a GUI nor renderer in place yet. I have been coding the "backbones" but I will work on getting a small demo out!

Let's not rip ideas off of EVE. I don't think this is what we would want discovery to ultimately become, a game of spreadsheets and stationary shootouts.
