People dont like TZ because they fail at ganking 4 bombers on a gunboat.

What TZ haters fail to realize is that there are ways around the TZ but refuse to acknowledge a change in their own game play. From their perspective, they don'€™t want to change, therefore the TZ must be removed.

Remember when Bombers dominated the game? Remember when people were freaking out how no one can beat a bomber pair, they are to OP, Q_Q Q_Q all the way home. Like some stated shortly after, people are going to have to re-learn how to defend against bombers.

Now that we have TZ, the new '€œsuper'€ ships are GBs and heavy transports. And now we'€™re back it again where people are freaking over TZ. TZ doesn'€™t work for everything, but it does even things out. You cant be a bomber pair and hope to take down a Transport any more. I say good for TZ. It was so one sided even a transport against a Bomber, now the transport has a fighting chance. This holds true for Pirates looking to fight their way out of a lawful bomber attack.

Learn sliding and not flying in a straight curve.
Don'€™t use the same attacks.
Learn that there are boundaries of TZ that work better than others.
There are ways to throw off TZ again and again.

Use TZ, it actually may lead to more talking RPs *gasp* than fire fights. Perish the thought.

Yes, because not having to actually aim your guns is balanced. I see.

Not having to aim your guns leads to better roleplay. I understand.

Not having to aim your guns leads to MORE roleplay. Gotcha.

I'll remember this for future reference.

Without it, a pair of novabombers would roflpwn anything but a well flown GS. I would also say that my eyes don't hurt anymore from switching from forward view to rear view every 3 seconds to steer my cruisers out of the way of snacs and torps while firing.

A pack of bombers will still kill anything in the game, you just need 3 instead of 2.

Also, if you want to solo caps, get a cap.

Hey Zapp, default is the + and - keys. I use the arrow keys for steering in turret mode and the standard aswd for fighters/gunships. My insert delet pack is for the other groups and quick keys when i am fighting in turret mode.

Come to conn and I will show ye. I need to thrash the tundra anyway:Dnow that we are just a /conn away.

-ohh and I thought turret zoom was disabled in smaller ships

What Joe said.
Remove TS for all non-capital ships- it kills the balance of the game. Only GBs/Cruiser/BS should have it.
Make the GB Turret guns 1000 speed, give 20-30% more DPS to cerbs and make them at 600. GB Solaris on half DPS at 1500 speed, remove the brutal efficiency of basic turrets, make generic IDs to have 50 % nerf on gbs.
All issues are fixable in 10 min- obviously no one wants to do it. Bringing TS back to fighters is really bad mistake- it screws the fights and make skill irrelevant. I cannot see the reason why the Devs brought back the TS for snubs, even if it was already known that TS freighter can kill bomber and VHF on its own, and some SHFs with turrets were mega OP. Or you can listen to lolwuts like Spire... because it is surely fun when you alone kill 5 people with your OP ship. Or because one GB is 2-3 times more effective then one BS? Logic?
And Kudos to Swallow for making the topic. Hard to find someone who is not hypocritical around this place.

Now now Cottoneye, I sense A ting of sarcasm in your words.

You'€™re making the mistake so many do. Confusing PVP with Role play. There are more threads to sway that people get irate that people fire before RP. Unless you '€œAIM'€ to roleplay in PVP? Tisk tisk.

When the gun fire starts the RP is pretty much over, other than sticking to PVP rules. It'€™s the events before and after a PVP where the RP can get into it.

Fighters and bombers, I believe cant TZ so it'€™s not an issue.

Most RP happens here, in the forums. Many people don'€™t have the stomach to RP in game, just run away or PVP. When there is RP in game it -leads- to PVP.

When the talking is done, TZ activate!

This doesn't have to do with caps at all. It's about some snubs using turret zoom to great effect vs. other snubs.

Though I think the issue will fix itself when people realise Arrastra has a nice shape and can use the 5 turrets to great effect without really having to aim much. So just wait for an Arrastra spam and subsequent nerf - probably the increase of the minimum mass for the ability of zooming that was already implemented in the previous update(s).

I spent a long long time learning to aim.

Damn shame it's for nothing.

See, there was a time when something called skill was required to win.

But then, disabled or lazy people were always at a disadvantage.

You know, the other day, it took all my effort to bring down a werewolf in my guardian. A werewolf who was flying like a retarded goat but somehow hit every single shot with his archangels. Of course, there is a counter to TS and I figured it out, but that much effort isn't worth it.

Oh well, off to bind the rest of my TS keys.
