Well, I can always dig up a whole bunch of handy quotes from Zelot, saying how the TBH existed before the council, and doesn't have to listen to them if it doesn't want to.

Considering, ya know, TBH was shooting zoners, and the Council was telling everyone not too.

*shrug*

But I assume your making a funneh joke, Madvillian. Your such a kidder:P

Hello Dane, I was wondering when you'll start talking about things you know nothing about.

TBH can do whatever they want, just like the Benitez family or the Black Sails. The Council does not restrict any of the factions simply because we respect each other enough to let the others know what we're going to do and if someone doesn't like it we talk and find a way to make it work. The situation you're referring to was no different. Tho' InRP it seemed that we had some frictions between the Brotherhood and the Council we were talking daily and we all knew what the others will do and TBH rejoined the Council it created shortly after.

From where I'm standing it seems that all we need to make the Council work is respect, good will and a lot of patience.

As for the indies, it's impossible to get anyone to listen to us and anyone who thinks its possible needs to get a grip. We can't please everybody but we are confident that the large majority of corsair players appreciates what we're doing.

True, sometimes you can't control yourself, so how you can do it with a large number of players anyway, but when someone reads something about factions where he belongs, official or unofficial, then it's pretty easy for him to follow it. When someone do a /restart somewhere (new "pilot" on server) especially /restart corsairs - outcast, you can't expect that he will be a "master of universe at once"... and tell me just a one official faction that can get every indie(s) to listen them(officials)?!

'Sair leadership is perfectamundo.

Me like.

Good roleplay, works well in that environment and the elders are good old corsair players that do know their player base.

*shrug* hey man, I'll gladly stop talking about sair's. And I'll be one hundred percent honest, all my info I get about your factions is what you tell me in your posts.
*shrug*

All I have is the outsiders perspective - which was basically TBH shooting any and all zoners, no matter who they were - my point being FP1, who have been friendly with the sair's for a while now - the Council telling them "not to shoot zoners who are our friends" and TBH going "lolno, kill them all"

(no yalalalala's, because thats an overused joke)

Indie's don't listen to anyone.

I only raise my voice when the reasons and roleplay seems stupid.

Which, considering, has only been once this year, think abut it - I'm not your biggest vocal opponent.
As well, if I ever get my crap together in disco, I still am planning on making a corsair. Now that im done with the SCRA, not like I got to worry about conflict of interest there.

EDIT

I don't troll about serious topics of discussion - If my view is genuinely out of line, take the time to tell me otherwise - I always take the time to read - especially if I reply.

My view of the corsair leadership is flavored by the responses to my concerns, a whole back when TBH was shooting zoners, even the ones that do favors for the corsairs - I found it personally stupid - the response was "The Council of Elders" does not control TBH - ok, and from what I gather, its TBH's courtesy to listen to the council, when it suits them

Is that wrong?

Bad idea.

Benitez: More relaxed, prefers roleplay over combat usually. Does mostly defense and empire upkeep.
Sails: Agressive pirates. Yadda yadda bang bang. They go out and steal the stuff Sairs need. Also make the most enemies.
TBH: The warmongers, who prefer to actually expand the empire. They're the biggest threat the house navies have to contend with. They tend to organize the fleet.

The factions are organized, and unlike the Zoners, they can usually agree on matters that require official faction actions. There's no reason for a forced merger (which, if it would happen, likely put TBH at the top of the food chain).

People need to understand that there is no reigning "leader" of the Corsairs, and thusly, different groups will have different opinions on matters (to some extent), bringing forth different actions from them all. Meaning one group of 'sairs may NOT want to shoot Zoners while others choose to.

Welcome to Role Play.

The Council never orders in the first place, or at least, very rarely.
It's far more a place for the various players/characters to talk things over, plan strategy, spread information, chart the course of the Corsairs.
In that manner it's far more diplomatic than most player governments, as the prefferred tool of the Council and the Councillors is talk. Only in the case of extreme discontinuity with Corsair roleplay, or with extreme actions drastically affecting the entire nation would any order be given.
After all, orders from the Council far more than imply violence, they demand it if there is no compliance.
And violence is something we have lots of practice at.
As for that specific situation, whilst shooting Zoners at that particular time was decidedly inconvienient and unwanted by Sails/Benitez, it wasn't exactly the sort of thing they got impassioned about.
It was more like, "Hey TBH, Benitez here. it'd be cool if you guys stopped shooting zonurs, kk? We geting all kinda flak and the qq from the ZonerZonerZoner's......well it makes me want to join you guys and pick up the SNACtion gun. Anyhow, wanna drink tequila and pierat some dudes later? The Sails are stopping in, gonna throw bak som shots and have a fiesta in O3! Gonna be so awesome."

True for the TBH part i think and partially true for the Indies. As much i know they respect the benitez most and listen to them more than others.
