Dashing hero = Outcasts.

I'm sorry, but I see all my Outcast characters as antiheros (read: they're not your typical heroes, but are still the good guys), and while they stand for cardamine and the corruption of the house systems, honor and justice is also extremely important. While most people think pirates with honor is a joke, I think these people are very narrow minded.

My idea of the Gaians (and the one that my QCO espouse) is that the Gaians are like the noble highwaymen of the renaissance...they are bored second sons, who want a cause and some spending money.

Not real cutthroats, nor real soldiers, but definitely dashing.

My idea of the Gaians is like a militant version of the Beatles. Extremist college leftists with an environmentalist bent.

As for Outcasts, I view them like a cross between modern drug lords and the Mafia of the Godfather. I see them as a very religious, devout people with a strong sense of justice and a strong belief in the power of cardamine. They are sophisticated manipulators, but ultimately do not do what they do out of a pure profit motive, like that of the Slavers Union, but that of Hispanian liberation.

At least, that's the BLS's main motive. Spreading the heaven of cardamine and the liberation of house Hispania under it's own rule and values. For these reasons, they'd actually align well with the Hogoshs, if it weren't for the whole Corsair thing.

I have to agree with blunt pencil on this one.

I used to have a character who was a former Liberty Navy Commodore that defected and became a commerce raider. Only I never got the funds to finish his character.

QCP sounds a lot like him. When I think privateers, I think of the little guy in the little ship beating the more heavily armed opponent through sheer will and courage.

Cliched, but then again, I am a hopeless romantic. ;)

I would say LIberty Rogues, because My Liberty Rogues character is similar in teh highwayman sence and the crew of the ship fit your description well, but they are differnt and bloodthristy for booty at the same time.
